Director and Producer Rakesh Mehra passed away today. Family, friends and colleagues from Bollywood, including superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek, on Monday paid a tearful adieu to noted producer-director Prakash Mehra who passed away here on Sunday following a prolonged illness. The last rites of 69-year-old Mehra were performed by his eldest son Sumeet at the Oshiwara crematorium in suburban Mumbai on Monday afternoon. Mehra, who gave Bachchan his first success and the much loved 'Angry Young Man' image through blockbuster film Zanjeer more than three decades ago, is survived by his three sons -- Sumeet, Amit and Puneet.He was undergoing treatment in a suburban hospital and died due to pneumonia and multiple organ failure on Sunday. Prominent among those who paid their last respects to the departed soul included Yash Chopra, Sanjay Khan, Ramesh Sippy, Harry Baweja, Salim Khan, Ranjit, Tinu Anand, Bharat Shah, Bappi Lahiri, Madhur Bhandarkar.
