Mahesh Joshi, the newly-elected MP from Jaipur, said on Sunday that he will try his best to deliver what Rahul Gandhi had promised to the Pink City during his campaign tour here on May 5. “There is a long list of works that we have envisioned for Jaipur. The feasibility of Metro train is being studied and the city needs premier educational institutes like IITs and IIMs to become a world-class city. I will make efforts to bring these institutions and if needed, will talk to Rahul Gandhi who holds ambitious plans for Jaipur,” Joshi said.
During a meeting at Ramlila ground in the Walled City area earlier this month, Rahul had promised to elevate Jaipur to a world-class city, as vibrant as New Delhi. Once promised by the Gandhi scion, Joshi knows that the job is half-done, as it will figure as a top priority on chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s wish-list. “Ashok Gehlot is a progressive leader and has done a lot in his previous tenure. He has more plans for Jaipur. Now since the public has given their mandate and support, he will be further inspired to take up development works on a faster pace,” said Joshi.
