The Congress on Thursday expelled former Maharashtra Guardian Minister Sunil Deshmukh, who rebelled against President's son and party candidate here, from the party for six years. City Congress president Vishwasrao Deshmukh made the announcement in this regard at a press conference here. Besides Sunil Deshmukh, Mayor Ashok Dongre and former Mayor Milind Chimote, have Asked about the Congress Corporators, who are openly campaigning for Deshmukh, he said the party is in touch with these elected representatives and they have been given time for returning to the partyfold. Exchange of words between scribes and Congress chief were witnessed, when he attributed the credit of newly started three trains from Amravati and Garment zone to party candidate Raosaheb Shekhawat.
All the development work done during the tenure of Deshmukh had been done by Congress party and not by him, the Congress leader said.
