BJP activists led by former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and her loyalists today protested against the "manner of election of the party state delegates" and non-release of the list of delegates who were supposed to elect new party state president in the organisational polls. A delegation comprising over two dozen leaders including Ms Raje, Party Treasurer and sitting MP Ramdas Agrawal, former state president and sitting MP Om Prakash Mathur and some MLAs went to the party state headquarters to make a formal representation. However, neither party State Electoral Officer Phool Chand Bhinda nor state president Arun Chaturvedi were available in the office.
Earlier, a dozen MLAs, former MLAs and party activists reached the party headquarters to meet electoral officer Bhinda and submit him a memorandum but the latter was not present. Talking to reporters, Raje loyalist and former Minister Dr Digambar Singh said they wanted to procure the copy of the list of state delegates and had formally made a request for the same but the list was not provided. Mr Singh said they were also contemplating to seek appointment with party president Nitin Gadkari to apprise him of the situation and their view point.
