This time it's the battle of the lovelies with Shilpa Shetty's Royals taking on Priety Zinta's whipping boys. The Kings XI won't want to see their owner embarrassed by her less talented acting colleague and that's only one of the reasons they will want to pull a rabbit out of the hat in Jaipur. After Mahela Jayawardene's exquisitely crafted century against KKR on Sunday and Yuvraj Singh and Kumar Sangakkara also showing returns to form, Punjab may just have a few surprises in store before this edition of the IPL is over. Jayawardene's move to the top of the order was long overdue, and after his stunning performance he is likely to stay there. The three batting heavyweights will have to contribute meaningfully if Punjab are to post a good total.
They'll come up against the magic fingers of Shane Warne. The Aussie legend looked as though mediocrity had finally hit before the last match against Deccan. There, he bowled a spell so mesmerizing, it inspired his team to salvage a scrappy win. Jayawardene and company will be wary of the trickery Warne may weave around them, and hopefully have come up with some sort of plan to counteract the leg spinner, if such measures exist. Warne is also back to one his favourite venues - Jaipur - where he hailed the home crowd as the reason the Royals did so well in IPL 1. The Royals have played all their home fixtures at Ahmedabad this season, and will be pleased to return to the pink city to ply their trade. What the Royals really need to focus on is not Shilpa's bewitching eyes, but their batting.
