Internet services in India from major Broadband service providers BSNL and other operator affected by sea cable Repair. The cable system – SEA-ME-WE 4 (South East Asia-Middle East-West Europe 4) connects South East Asia with Europe via India and the Middle East and recently this cable has been cut from three spots. Being so important international channel, it has to be repaired as soon as possible for which thee Indian internet connections have to suffer with a slow speed. This repair work is expected to last long for at least 4 days. The SEA-ME-WE 4 is an international sub-marine cable connecting 16 companies world wide including BSNL, VSNL, Airtel and Tata Communications. Earlier in Jan 2008 also the country had to face the same problem that lost 50 to 60 per cent of Internet bandwidth for the Indian connections.
Rajasthan's 1.3 Lakh Broadband customers also suffer from slow speed as data speed is slow but BSNL manage to provide undisturbed services as most of BSNL Subscribers are not aware of it as they are getting speed as usual but speed getting affected in peak hours when all subscribers use at same time. BSNL Rajasthan circle DGM(Broadband) R.C. Sharma said that services will be restored on Saturday morning.
