Rajasthan will soon get 2 more power unit from RAPS Rawatbhata. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been invited to dedicate the fifth and sixth units of the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station (RAPS) at Rawatbhata to the nation, a senior official said today. The dedication ceremony would be organised after receiving the PM's approval for the new units, RAPS senior manager S K Sharma said.
The Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) extended the invite to Prime Minister Office recently, he said. Sharma said that fifth unit of the RAPS of 220 MW was synchronised on December 22 last year and sixth unit on March 28, 2010 and connected with the northern electricity grid with commercial energy generation.
