The long wait the symbol for Indian Rupee was finalized on 15 July 2010. With this India has finally stepped in the list of privileged countries having the symbol for their currency and has made a remarkable history.
Though for a while, you cannot have the Indian Rupee symbol on your keyboards but still you can type it. Yes! To satisfy your curiosity, you can now do it using the Indian Rupee font. You can use a newly created a font called “Rupee Foradian” which allows you to type the Indian Rupee symbol on the computer using MS Office applications such as MS Office etc.

Step 2: Copy the downloaded file from this attachment and paste it under
Start -> control panel -> fonts
Step 3 : Now Font is installed in your computer. Open MS Word to check
Step 4 : to insert the rupee symbol just press the key ~ on your
keyboard
