The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee today authorised Party supremo Sonia Gandhi to nominate new party state president. The newly-elected party state committee delegates, former presidents and other members of the electoral college for the state president's election met here today in the presence of the Pradesh Returning Officer (PRO) Jagannath Patnaik and adopted an one line resolution to authorise Ms Gandhi for the purpose. Party State President CP Joshi moved the resolution, which was seconded by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Many former state presidents also favoured the resolution.
The new party district units' presidents who also happen to be members of the electoral college for the state president's election, are yet to be elected. Present incumbent and Union Minister Mr Joshi have been working on the post of the state president for the past three years. The election is a part of the ongoing process of organisational elections in the party.
