Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot yesterday met Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister M S Gill here and discussed the arrangements of the 16th National Youth Festival Mr Gehlot said the theme of the festival is ''Sabse Pahle Bharat''. He informed that over 5,000 contestants from all states and Union Territories would participate in the festival. ''For the first time, representatives from ASEAN and SAARC countries have been invited as foreign guests,'' he added. The main function would be organised in M B Stadium, Udaipur. Artists of national repute would also participate in cultural evenings to be held from January 13-15 during the five-day event.
Mr Gehlot assured Mr Gill that the state government would leave no effort to make this festival successful. He said arrangements were in full swing and the state was confident that the festival would be unique and memorable according to the traditions of hospitality of Rajasthan. The Chief Minister also expressed hope that the theme of the festival would inspire the youth of the country to work unitedly for the nation building and rise above caste and religion.
