The first eGovernance Data Center today started functioning in the new Rajasthan IT Bhawan here. The Center was inaugurated by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at a function in the State Planning Bhawan complex. The center has been set up by the Information Technology and Communication Department and state government body RajComp under the National eGovernance Project. This is the first center established under the project in the country. Speaking on the occasion Mr Gehlot said that his government was according top priority to the application of information technology for promotion of eGovernance.
He said that good governance was not possible without the eGovernance and hence the state government was taking measures to promote use of IT. Mr Gehlot said ''former primer minisgter Rajiv Gandhi has dreamt to transform India as developed and prosperous nation through application of IT in the 21st century and this dream could be realised only when all worked to achieve targets in a timebound manner. State Information Technology Minister Jitendra Singh, Chief Secretary S Ahmad and several dignitaries were present on the occastion.
