The University Grants Commission (UGC) has allocated a special grant of Rs 3.35 crore for Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU) under the Eleventh Five Year Plan. JNVU Vice Chancellor Prof Naveen Mathur said, earlier, fund of Rs 79 lakh was allotted to the university under the same plan. the fund has been allocated for a number of things such as faculty improvement, for setting up coaching centres for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes. Apart from this, a fund of Rs 50 lakh is going to be used for construction of girls hostel.
