CM Ashok Gehlot, who was on a one-day visit to the city on Sunday, announced a Rs 20 crore grant for development of the proposed Machia Safari Park in the district. Speaking to reporters after a review meeting with the officials, Gehlot said that the government was committed to develop Machia as a prime tourist destination of the state. He added that all the proposed projects in machia would be completed in next three years. Recalling the historical importance of Machia, Gehlot said the place had been the workplace of eminent freedom fighter Jai Narayan Vyas. Reiterating his government’s commitment for all round development of the state, Gehlot said that it was during his tenure that the State Forest Policy came into force for the first time since independence.
