The week-long strike of resident Doctors in the state’s government medical colleges came to an end after the suspension of Jaipur student leader Kanaram. The doctors were protesting against incident where a doctor from Jaipur’s SMS Hospital was beaten up. The doctors were demanding the arrest of the accused student leader.
Jodhpur Association of Resident Doctors said that the doctors of SN Medical College have resumed work after the suspension of the accused. The strike had crippled the working of hospitals and all the medical colleges were facing an acute shortage of doctors. The government being engaged with the ongoing budget session did not pay much attention to the strike which could have been avoided had the suspension of the accused student leader taken place earlier.
