Jewellery traders from Jaipur are happy with the government''s decision to start a direct flight to Bangkok from Jaipur, as it will boost trade. Jaipur is known for trading traditional jewellery, and this decision of the government has made exporters happy who feel that direct connectivity to Bangkok, a center for gems and jewellery, will improve the trade process. Before this, jewellery traders had to come to New Delhi to catch a flight to Bangkok. Nek Kumar Khandelwal, a jewellery trader, said: “The concept of direct traveling will boost the gems and jewellery trade because of easy approach and it is time-saving.” “ We are saving time instead of catching a flight from another airport. As time is money, it will greatly benefit us. The gap between Jaipur and Bangkok has lessened,” he added.
Khandelwal said that the risk of carrying valuable goods to Bangkok would also decrease. Arun Kumar Chowdhary, a tour operator, said: “The shows of Bangkok and Hong Kong are a big boost to the markets of Jaipur and Rajasthan. Direct connectivity is a big factor.” “ People don''t like to drive for six hours, or go to Delhi by air and wait there for three to four hours. Apart from this, there are many families from Jaipur who are settled in Bangkok and Hong Kong since many years. Their problems will be solved with this initiative,” he added. Apart from the trade and business perspectives, prospects for tourism between Rajasthan and South- East Asian nations have also brightened due to this.
