Rajasthan to observe 2 day state mourning for Khandu

Rajasthan Government today declared two-day state mourning to condole the death of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu. During the period of state mourning -- today and tomorrow -- the National flag will be flown at half mast and no entertainment programmes would be held at official level. The state government offices will also remain closed tomorrow as a mark of respect to the departed leader. The state Cabinet held an emergency meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today to condole the death.
The Cabinet also adopted a resolution to laud the services and contributions by Khandu in political, social, cultural and economic spheres. In his condolence message, Mr Gehlot described Khandu as an able administrator and true patriot and said in his death the country had lost a farsighted and sensitive leader.
