CBI raids Jaipur Provident Fund office

The Central Beauro of Investigation(CBI) raids Provident Fund(PF) office in Jaipur for evidences in Provident Fund scam in Delhi assumed to be of around Rs 169 crore. CBI has registered a case against the then additional central provident fund commissioner and eight other officials at the Employee Provident Fund Officer (Delhi). In relation to the case searches were conducted at 23 places in and around Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Jaipur on Wednesday. "Several incriminating documents relating to immovable and movable assets belonging to the accused persons and other documents have been recovered during the searches. The documents are being scrutinised for further investigation," said an official release by the CBI.
According to CBI officials, the accused have connived with the officials of a Delhi-based private firm, BL Kashyap and Sons. The accused created false records of employees working with the firm. They created records of employees that never worked for the firm, the numbers of employees were artificially inflated and the time duration of the employees working with the firm was also changed. The manipulation of employee data allegedly continued from the year 2005 to 2009 and helped the firm to avoid a payment of nearly `169 crore of Provident Fund.
