The dargah is revered by millions of people from different communities from the Indian subcontinent and large number of devotees, including those from Pakistan, visit the shrine every year.
Khar whose visit was delayed by three hours; first because of bad weather forcing her to spend more than an hour at the Sanganer Airport in Jaipur and then she had to wait at circuit house in Ajmer because by the time she landed here the shrine was closed for 'khidmat' , a ritual that cost her an hour. Finally, she arrived accompanied by her younger brother and other members of her delegation at 3.30 pm where she spent half an hour and offered a 'chaddar' and flowers at the shrine. "Meri dili khawihish thi ki mai Khawaja sahib ke yahan haziri doon, isliye mausam kharab hote hue bhi mai aa payi (It was my heartfelt wish to visit Khwaja sahib that's why I was able to make it)," she reportedly told Chishti. She also wished to come back with her father and husband. Before she left, Nazim of Ajmer Dargah, Abdul Majeed Khan presented her a dupatta, tabarrukh and booklet.
