Hero MotoCorp's new theme will be “Hum Main Hai Hero” – there is a hero in each one of us. A.R. Rahman has composed the music for the theme song, as Hero MotoCorp embarks on a new journey, after it terminated its 26-year-long association with Honda Motor Company of Japan. To confetti being showered and music blasting out of the loudspeakers, Hero MotoCorp unveiled its new brand identity in the presence of celebrities such as actor Shahrukh Khan, pop star Akon, former tennis champion Boris Becker, F1 driver David Coulthard and cricketer Irfan Pathan, at the O2 arena on the banks of the Thames. The new brand, according to Mr Pawan Munjal, Managing Director and CEO, Hero MotoCorp, epitomises continuity and change. The new logo stands for the new face of India – that youthful energy and ‘can do' spirit. “It is in true sense the Indian catapult, which signals that while it is deeply rooted in Indian values, it is also poised to go for global expansion – a Leap of faith,” he said.
Hero had roped in Wolff Olins, part of the Omnicom group, to work on the new brand identity and had engaged Law & Kenneth as a creative partner to give shape to the communication for launching and establishing the new brand. Under the new licence agreement, the Hero group signed with Honda after terminating the agreement, it can continue to use the Hero Honda name in its products till 2014. It today launched a 110-cc scooter Maestro and a 150-cc motorcycle Impulse under its own Hero brand. New TV Ad is launched on 15 August 2011, on Independence day across all Media channels.
