APP arrested for seeking sexual favours in Udaipur

Assistant Public Prosecutor(APP) was arrested in Udaipur last night for allegedly claim his bribe of physical relation with a female client. The 49-year-old accused, Abhimanyu Singh, working in the court of additional chief judicial magistrate (2), was trying to force the woman into having physical relation with him in exchange for helping her win a case. According to ASP, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Rajendra Kumar Goyal, the 40-year-old woman had lodged an FIR with Amba Mata police station claiming her husband had sold her car without her consent. "The couple had disputes, but was living in the same house. Abhimanyu Singh was to represent the woman on behalf of the police in the ACJM (2) court. He told her that if she wanted her car, she would have to become a friend,” the officer said. “When she asked what he meant by being ‘friends’, he demanded sexual favours. He told her that he had enough money so he did not need cash as bribe,” said the officer. The offended woman approached the ACB following which a trap was laid. Arrested lawyer has 16 bank accounts.  Abhimanyu was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The police on Saturday produced him in a court which sent him to judicial custody.
