A lower court in Jaipur has directed the police to register an FIR against nine persons, including former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and her son Dushyant Singh. The orders were issued on Friday on a petition challenging a decision by revenue tribunal, which had decided to allot a piece of pastureland in Dholpur in Dushyant Singh's favour in 2006. The court has directed the Ashok Nagar police station to comply with the orders and present its report to it.
According to the plea, Raje's son and MP Dushyant Singh had filed an application before the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in 2002 claiming ownership of a 22-bigha land in Badi, Dholpur. The plea claims the SDM had rejected the application. Subsequently, Singh appealed before the revenue tribunal claiming the land in question was a hereditary property. The tribunal allowed the land, which the petition claims was earmarked as pastureland, to be handed over to Singh. The petition has charged Raje with using her influence to prevent the decision from being challenged by the state government. The court also directed the police to submit before the police a report on its probe/investigation.
