New Tatkal Ticket Rules, Booking Timings from 10th July 2012

New Tatkal Ticket Rules, Booking Timings:  Train Reservation under Tatkal Scheme from 10th July 2012 will start from 10 AM instead of 8 AM. The Railways on Friday said ‘no authorised agents will be allowed to book tatkal tickets during the first two hours. Officials said separate tatkal booking counters will be opened. CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor irregularities. New rules barred booking clerks from carrying mobiles inside the counters.
The pressure on the e-ticketing site would also reduce considerably. "With a view to further improve the delivery of Tatkal tickets to passengers, the Ministry of Railways has decided that with effect from 10.07.2012 booking of Tatkal ticket will start at 1000 hours on the previous day of journey from train originating station instead of 0800 hours at present. No authorised agents, including agents of IRCTC and RTSAs/RTAs will be allowed to book Tatkal tickets from 1000 hours to 1200 hours. The existing restriction of not allowing these agents booking of general tickets on the opening day from 0800 hours to 1000 hours will also continue," said a Railway Ministry press release.

    TO CHECK THE UNAUTHORISED BOOKING THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE DONE.
    1.ticket booking should be through irctc site only .
    2. 2-3 dedicated server should be installed so that load is properly distributed
    3, Authorised travel agents should be blocked from booking tickets in tatkal scheme
    4.the name of the passenger and the irctc name should be checked before issuing tickets
    5. not more than 2 tickets should be allowed to each passenger

    Friends its totally bullshit!!! its my personnel experience agents stand in queue with his ppl and getting tatkal tickets to sell and some share goes to corrupted RPF ppl shame on them... ppl stand in queue but very difficult to get tickets due to agents, Everybody aware of this but no one bother... STOP AGENTS TO ISSUE TATKAL TICKETS...

    sale sab chtiya ki tarah rule bana dete hain 8:00 am ki bajaye 10:00 am karne se kya hoga? booking clerk phone nahi rakh sakta isase kya hoga? usne jo dalal se setting karni hai subah 8:00am se 10:00 am ke beech me kar lega. agar sach me tatkal ki dalali rokni hai to imandar officer ko unke upar chhapa marne ke liye lagao...........

    Deadlock:

    1. Politicians keep the number to trains/seats always limited to create demand. They thrive on corrupt officials.
    2. Railway Officials thrive on "Smart" Agents.
    3. Agents thrive on increasing number of general public who are ok or "forced" to bribe to get a ticket due to emergency.

    If the problem has to be solved, we need to solve 1 or 3. The current changes supports 1 and 3 :)
