Rajasthan Government increased dearness allowance (DA) rate by 8% after Union cabinet approve 8% DA hike for central govt. employees. Raajsthan Government on Friday announced an 8% DA hike for its employees with retrospective effect from January 1, 2013 to 80%, from existing 72%. The hike would be effective from January 1, 2013 and the employees and pensioners will be entitled to arrears. The government had raised DA to 72% in September last year, which had come into effect from July 1, 2012.
The hike would cost the state exchequer an additional Rs 1167 crore
annually. Though the increased DA would be effective from January 1,
this year, it would be paid in cash only from April 1, 2013. The arrears
from January 1, 2013 to March 31, 2013 would be credited in the GPF
accounts of the employees appointed before January 1, 2004, while for
those appointed after January 1, 2004, the arrears would be paid in
cash.
