This Friday the two big Bollywood Movies, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Dilwale' and Ranveer Singh's 'Bajirao Mastani' released with some protests for both the film. While, 'Dilwale' faced protests in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district and Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad city, demonstrations were also held against Bajirao Mastani in Pune. Hindustan Times: **1/2 (2.5 Star) Deepika is brighter than Bhansali’s opulence
If you appreciate Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s opulence and grandeur, this won’t disappoint. It can be a good one-time watch, for Deepika’s performance, if not anything else.

Mid Day Rating:***1/2 (3.5 star)
Bhansali, in the two-and-half hour narration, transports you to a unique and stunningly beautiful world of Wadas and aayina mahal, Maharashtrian nathanis co-existing with ghunghroos and the traditional Pinga dance given a glamorous twist.

Not Deepika, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra lace this film with their brilliant performances. Watch the film for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s artistic vision and definitely Ranveer’s career-best act.

Deccan Chronicle Rating: ***(3 Star) | There is not a shade of Bajirao that Ranveer Singh does not perfect. A melodramatic climax aside, the film is undoubtedly a quality product, Bhansali always ensures that. But what makes it fall just short of excellence is the lack of the journey within. But a glimpse of the mind would have made the picture complete.

Indian Express Rating: *1/2 (1.5 Star) | Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh film is just a costume drama
Deepika Padukone is lovely, and creates sizzle with Ranveer Singh, but hasn’t melded with the part. It is hard to imagine anyone else as Bajirao after Ranveer Singh finishes chewing up the part .

NDTV Rating: *** (3 Star) Bajirao Mastani is for those that think history is boring. There isn't a dull moment in this colourful and dramatic film that embraces excess with unabashed abandon.
