Rajasthan's Prakash Rajpurohit get 2nd rank in UPSC Civil Service Exam 2010. Prakash Rajpurohit is an electrical engineer from IIT-Delhi.Prakash did his schooling from DAV School in Delhi before joining IIT.Prakash Rajpurohit Roll Number Is 070763. 24- year- old youth is set to join the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) after securing the second position. Prakash Rajpurohit(24) secured the second position in the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) examination.
Prakash rajpurohit is originally from Rajashthan’s Barmer district, Prakash did his schooling from DAV School in Delhi before joining IIT. He is an Electrical engineering graduate from IIT Delhi and he hails from Brij Vihar locality of Ghaziabad. He passed out his Class-X and Class- XII examinations from DAV School. He cleared this competitive exam in the second attempt.
Rajpurohit said, “I always wanted to join the IAS. I love the job as it offers challenges and diversity. There's a greater scope of helping people out. I was expecting the top rank because I wrote a fine exam. IIT provided a highly competitive atmosphere and this helped me in preparing for the civil services exam." His father Devi Singh Rajpurohit’s happiness had no limits he said, "After passing out of IIT Delhi, my son joined a start- up company in Noida. He worked for a few months and after that set his eyes on clearing the civil services exams. In first attempt he fail to clear merit list but in second attempt he come like a star and scored 2nd rank in all india merit list.

Ajmer blast accused petition accepted
A court in Ajmer on Friday admitted the revised petition of Devendra Gupta, arrested for his alleged role in the 2007 Ajmer Dargah blast and issued a notice to the Rajasthan Government to file its reply by May 10. Gupta's advocate Umardan Lakhawat said the District and Session Judge Ajmer Prashant Agarwal has admitted the petition and asked the State government to file its reply by May 10. Gupta, who is allegedly linked to Hindu outfit Abhinav Bharat Sangathan had on Thursday filed a revised petition against the proposed narco and brain mapping tests conducted on him by the Rajasthan Anti Terror Squad (ATS).
The petition comes just two days after the ruling of the Supreme Court that illegal compulsory use of narco-analysis, brain-mapping and polygraph tests techniques amount to cruel and degrading treatment and unwarranted intrusion into personal liberty.n his petition, Gupta claimed that the ATS had not taken his permission for conducting the tests.arlier on April 3, the court had granted permission to the ATS to conduct a narco-analysis test on Gupta. Gupta was arrested last week from Ajmer, when he had come to meet his ailing mother.e is suspected to be involved in the blast inside the Dargah of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti.he ATS has so far arrested three persons in the blast case- Devendra from Ajmer and Chandrashekhar and Vishnu Patidar from Madhya Pradesh.

Rajasthan to get 2 more power unit from RAPS Rawatbhata
Rajasthan will soon get 2 more power unit from RAPS Rawatbhata. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been invited to dedicate the fifth and sixth units of the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station (RAPS) at Rawatbhata to the nation, a senior official said today. The dedication ceremony would be organised after receiving the PM's approval for the new units, RAPS senior manager S K Sharma said.
The Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) extended the invite to Prime Minister Office recently, he said. Sharma said that fifth unit of the RAPS of 220 MW was synchronised on December 22 last year and sixth unit on March 28, 2010 and connected with the northern electricity grid with commercial energy generation.

7 killed at railway crossing in Jalore
Seven persons including a woman were today killed when a goods train rammed into a tractor at an unmanned railway crossing in Rajasthan's Jalore district. All seven victims belonged to Khera village and Modra-ki-Dhani in Jalore district, Superintendebt of Police L N Meena said. The goods train, which was on its way from Jodhpur to Bhilari, rammed into the tractor on which seven persons were riding at Modran, 389 km from here, the SP said.
No train was running on this track for the last one year due to gauge conversion. The train operations started a fortnight ago and the villagers were probably not aware, the SP commented. Jalore Collector has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1.40 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased, he said.

Kashmir doctor Shah Faesal tops UPSC Civil Service 2009
A doctor from Srinagar has topped the Civil Service Exams 2009 as 875 candidates qualified the test conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the results of which were announced on Thursday. Shah Faesal, an MBBS degree holder from Srinagar, topped the prestigious examination in his maiden attempt. A total of 875 candidates, including 680 men and 195 women, have been recommended for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and other central services, the UPSC said in a statement. A total of 4,09,110 candidates applied for the test while 1,93,091 appeared in the preliminary examination. Of them, 12,026 candidates qualified for the main written test while 2432 candidates were shortlisted for personality test which was conducted in March and April, 2010.Prakash Rajpurohit, a B Tech holder from IIT, Delhi, came at the second spot while Iva Sahay, MA (Geography) from JNU, secured the third rank. While Rajpurohit made it in the second attempt, Sahay got success in her first attempt. The top 25 rank holders comprise 15 male candidates and 10 female candidates, the UPSC said. In terms of subject of studies, the top 25 candidates include 13 from Engineering, nine from Commerce, Management, Humanities, Science and Social Sciences and three from Medical Science background. Of them, 21 took the examination in English medium while four appeared in Hindi
