New Fee Structure in IIM C for 2009-11 Batch is Double
IIM-C decided on Friday to hike its fee to Rs 9 lakh for the 2009-11 batch. This is more than double the fees paid by the batch passing out this year. Under the revised fee structure, students will have to pay Rs 4 lakh in the first year and Rs 5 lakh in the second year. Current students, who will be promoted to second year in 2009, will need to pay Rs 4 lakh.
In spite of the hike, IIM-C fees are still lower than those of IIM-Ahmedabad (Rs 11 lakh) and IIM-Bangalore (Rs 9.5 lakh). “Since our fee was lower than IIM-A and IIM-B, questions were being raised about whether we offer any less facility than the other IIMs. That is not true. Last year, IIM-A and IIM-B went ahead and increased their fees without even consulting us. We had already announced that we were also going to increase fees this time,” said a faculty member of IIM-C.
This is too much hike in the fee structure....
ReplyDeleteIIM is india proud..
They should think that if someone can't adjust this amount but talented then......, india will loose talented person.
The fee structures are ridiculously increasing day by day. The management should think about the students as how they can pay this big amount.India is still the country of middle class people, the fight to survive is the main objective of the common mass. So if a gem comes out & clear the entrance test he/she will have to crush his/her dreams.
ReplyDeleteTHESE ARE MORE OF MONEY MAKING PLACES then STUDY PLACES...
ReplyDeleteGuys work hard, be on your legs, AN MBA is not a person's LIFE, its only a PART OF LIFE that means only till some extent, end of the day its you and your compassion to be something in Life.
Dont waste your time and money in this!

ReplyDeletemaximum people here are from middle class.Dont murder their wish for the IIMs.
Better to delete th IIMS from Govt Institutes list. This kind of course fees does not applicable to Govt educational institutes in India.
ReplyDeleteIn India, is education becomes only for rich people? there is a lots of students they r not rich but they want more education. So this is fare with us.
ReplyDeletewe have a lot of people of the middle and upper middle class people in the country so taking that into account we must have the fee structure and moreover recession is hitting down on people....
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely bizzare and ridiculous. The abrupt hike in the fee structure to this extent is not at all favourable for middle class students. This is needed to be revised no doubt to reduce the fee.
ReplyDeletewhat is the reason behind unreasoning hike in fee structure of IIM ylear by year ? Is there any need to do this ? You are killing aspirations of middle classed people hope of to persue their MBA degree from IIM.
ReplyDeleteThis hike in fee structure will kill the ambitions of the middle class people.. their confidence of doing mba will diminish.....

ReplyDeletehow a common student can pay the fee
ReplyDeletewt u people r telling is absolutely true... this is the country were more than 60% of the people r of middle class & even though if they r talented they have to crush their dreams of getting through IIMS even after breaking CAT jst for the sake of money...wt is the use of having a talent when here is no importance given to it and money rules the world.... the students who r talented has to be given an opporchunity to prove them self.........
ReplyDeleteso please give importance for the talent n not for money.......by increasing the fees jst for the sake of compitation between the IIMS u will loose the students who r talented..........
this rise in the fee structure is indicating that "paisa hi sab kuch hai...."
ReplyDeletethe person who has not much funds will not be able to do mba from these institutes, inspite of having a great knowledge and talent. government is just disabling the poor sections to develop and growing up.
