Four times champion Goa had sweet revenge edging out Bengal 4-2 via tie-breaker in the final of the 63rd Santosh Trophy National Football Championship at the Nehru stadium in Chennai on Sunday evening. The victory, the fifth for Goans, who avenged their 1999 defeat in Chennai at the hands of 29 times champion Bengal, who put up a pathetic show today. Bengal had won that final ten years ago at the same venue.Tamil Nadu Minister for Sports Moideen Khan presented the trophy to Goa captain Felix D Souza. Goa team also carried home a purse of Rs five lakh, presented by All India Football Federation. Tamil Nadu striker Rejith got the Golden Foot award of Rs one lakh for being the highest individual scorer with 12 goals in the tournament.
