Jaipur Metro and Ring road in planned manner- Gehlot

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said during budget presentation state government will implement the Metro Rail project in Jaipur in a phased manner. Presenting state budget for 2009-10 in the state Assembly here, Mr Gehlot said Delhi Metro Rail Nigam had been asked to pree and submit the project report for the purpose. He further said the project report would be submitted to the state government by next six months, to be implemented in a phased manner. Mr Gehlot has reiterated his government's commitment for developing the state capital as a model world class city. A newJaipur master plan keeping in mind situation needs and requirements by 2025 was being prepared. The ambitious project of laying ring road around Jaipur was being entrusted to National Highway Authority of India(NHAI), the Chief Minister said.
The proposed Ring Road is about 145 km long, around the city of Jaipur connecting Jaipur- Ajmer Road (NH8), Jaipur-Tonk Road (NH12), Jaipur-Agra Road (NH11), Jaipur-Delhi Road (NH8) and Jaipur-Sikar Road (NH11). A land ribbon 360 m wide is proposed for this development.
