JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav take a different way to oppose long listed Woman's reservation Bill. He said today that he would "consume poison" in the House if woman reservation bill will be passed in its present form. "We may not have the numbers but I will consume poison and die here but not allow the passage of the Women's Reservation Bill," he said. He blame congress government on this bill and said "Congress party has been resorting to tokenism by appointing a woman as President and as Speaker".
Joining issue with Yadav, ally BJP's deputy floor leader Sushma Swaraj said Yadav's was an antiquated view. "It is not necessary that there should be consensus on every matter, BJP favours women's reservation bill," she said. Several Other Backward Classes leaders have been against the bill and have been seeking caste-based reservation within the women's quota.
