Kishangarh MLA son’s murder accused held in Haridwar

Special Operations Group of state police on Wednesday arrested Balwa Ram, the main accused in the murder of Bhanwarlal Sinodia, son of Kishangarh MLA Nathuram Sinodia. The SOG team arrested Balwa from an abandoned hut in Haridwar on Rishikesh road in Uttaranchal where he was hiding for one week. “We had spotted his hideout but arrested him only after taking all precautions,” said inspector general, SOG, Sanjay Agarwal. We got a tip-off from the local sources in Uttar Pradesh that Balwa Ram was hiding in a Kutiya (hutment) near Haridwar from where we nabbed him,” Agarwal added.
After the murder of MLA’s son, the SOG team had collected enough information about Balwa since the time he was associated with liquor smuggling. “At least six teams of SOG comprising five members each were camping at various places in the country. It actually helped us in getting closer to Balwa Ram,” he added. Balwa had allegedly killed Bhanwarlal on March 9 and was on the run since then. According to police, Balwa along with Shehzad, Sikandar, Madan and Heera abducted Bhanwar and later killed and dumped his body at a village near Dudu on Jaipur-Ajmer highway. Police sources say Balwa was in direct confrontation with Bhanwar over a piece of land in Kishangarh. The MLA’s son’s murder had triggered a sensation as top leaders including chief minister Ashok Gehlot and leader of Opposition Vasundhara Raje had visited the village and consoled the family. The incident gave a shot in the arm for BJP to show the deteriorating law and order in the state. Leaders across the table had demanded security cover for their family members.
