The much-awaited interaction between Gujjar delegates and Rajasthan Government began here this evening for negotiating an amicable end to their 14-day stir for five per cent quota for special backward classes (SBCs) in government jobs. Delegates representing Gujjar Reservation Action Committee reached here from Pillukapura, Bayana, and drove to Energy Minister Jitendra Singh's residence after having brief halt at a RTDC hotel. According to an official spokesman, delegates from some other districts and other communities will join them here to hold discussions with the three-member Ministerial Committee formed for resolving the issue.
Earlier, Gujjar leader Col Kirodi Singh Bainsla responded positively to the government's message conveyed to him about yesterday's deliberations here and for sending a delegation for further talks. Yesterday, rounds of discussions were held here among Congress leaders from the Gujjar community, including Union Minister of State Sachin Pilot and Mr Singh for assuring the Gujjars about the government's stand and actions for implementation of the Gujjar demands. Meanwhile, the rail blockade in Pillukapura continued for the 14th day today blocking the trunk Delhi-Mumbai route.
