The Urban Development Ministry today in principle give nod to the Jaipur Metro train second phase, paving way for timely start of the work for the ambitious Rs 12,000 crore project aimed at plying of metro train in the Pink City by year 2013. Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath gave approval in principal to the second phase of the project during his discussion with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in New Delhi today, an Official Spokesman said here adding that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director E. Shridharan, who has been spearheading the Jaipur metro project too, was also present during the meeting.
The Centre had already given approval for the first phase of the project and the initial ground work for the same had also been launched here. 'The Chief Minister is hopeful of due and timely help from the Centre, and thus for timely completion of project too'', the spokesman said.
