Rajasthan Government announced cleared a new policy for land allotment at concessional rates, after it had recently curtailed the powers of the cabinet ministers in a bid to curb corruption. As per the new policy, land provided to primary, upper primary schools will be between 2,000 and 3,000 square metre, for senior secondary schools it’s 4,000-6,000 sq m, and for colleges between 2000 and 10,000 sq m. For universities, the land alloted can go up to 30 acre. For small hospital and nursing homes the alloted area will be between 2,000 and 3,000 sq m, for bigger hospitals it stands at 6,000 and 8,000 sq m. For speciality hospitals, the figure is between 4,000 and 6,000 sq m, while community centres and registered institutions can get a maximum alloted area of 4,000 sq m. “Land would be allotted at residential reserved rates for educational institutions and for health and medical services at the level of concerned trust, authority, housing board and local body. The decision to allot land on a rate less than the residential reserved rate will be taken by the government,’’ said Ashok Gehlot while giving details of the new policy.
The local body concerned will be able to make free allotment up to 1,000 square metre for public services such as night shelters, public toilets but the ownership on the proposed land will remain with the local body. Premier institution with a minimum proposed investment of Rs 50 crore over five years will be allotted the land at 50 percent DLC rates, while for a proposed investment of Rs. 100 crore, land will be allotted at 25 percent of the DLC rate. These include universities, professional and technical colleges and national-level schools.
