Not in race of CM - Dr. Chandrabhan

Rajasthan PCC President Dr Chandrabhan on Monday said Jats would be happy if a candidate from their community becomes the next chief minister of the state. "If a Jat candidate is made next CM, it will surely be a matter of pleasure for the community," he told reporters at PCC. However, the president, who is Jat, said he was not in the race of the chief ministerial position. "I am not in the race of this position," he said.
Selection of a candidate for chief ministerial position is made by Congress Legislative Party and approved by the party high command, he said. The party's focus is on the assembly polls due next year, he said. "We are making efforts for ensuring victory in the next assembly elections too," he said.

Mining Mafia kills constable in Dholpur, Rajasthan

Mining Mafia of Chambal region in Rajasthan and MP Boarder area claim one more life yesterday within three months of killing IPS officer Narendra Kumar in Morena. Mahendra Singh (46), a head constable posted at Sagarpara police outpost, was crushed by a truck which came to Dholpur carrying illegally-mined gravel from Morena on Tuesday. Mahendra and another head constable Virendra Singh chased four trucks on their bike Tuesday afternoon. One of the trucks hit their bike and ran over Mahendra. Virendra managed to escape with minor injuries. The police seized four trucks, but could not arrest anybody. Officers said the drivers managed to escape after leaving the vehicle.
Mahendra, a resident of Dholpur town, was earlier posted at the anti-dacoit branch. He was transferred to the Sagarpara police outpost recently to keep a watch on transportation of illegally mined produce between Dholpur and Morena. "We are investigating if there is any link between the culprits behind the murders of Narendra Kumar and the head constable,” said Dholpur SP Harendra Kumar. Police are conducting raids to track the truck drivers.

Single entrance test for IIT, NIT, IIIT from 2013

From 2013, aspiring candidates for IITs and other central institutes like NITs and IIITs will have to sit under new a format of entrance test which will also take plus two board results into consideration. All existing entrance exams to these institutes will be replaced with a new common entrance exam to be conducted in two parts — JEE Main and JEE advanced. Announcing this here on Monday, Union Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said a consensus was reached after deliberations spanning over two years. A meeting of the Joint Councils of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Central educational institutions approved the common admission process with weightage to performance in the Class XII Board examinations. The Senate and faculty of the IITs had resisted the plan, citing the standards of the institutions. But the problem was resolved, with the IITs having been allowed to maintain a separate merit list. However, this will be reviewed after 2015, when the IITs will also join the common merit list. To be conducted by the IITs' Joint Admission Board (JAB), the test will be held in two parts on the same day — JEE main and JEE advanced.
The IITs will first screen students on the basis of a merit prepared by granting weightage to them in the ratio of 50 pc for Class XII exam marks and 50 pc for marks obtained in the “main” component of the test. The top 50,000 scorers on the merit list will be eligible for admission to the IITs and their “advanced” component papers alone will be evaluated by the IITs to prepare a final merit list for admissions. This merit list won’t have any place for school exam marks. Haryana, Gujarat and Maharashtra have agreed to join the new format instead of having separate exams for state engineering colleges. IITs will design both the main and the advanced components of the common engineering test and will join other institutes on a common format by 2015. Both tests, main and advanced, will be MCQ type and will be held the same day as against the wishes of IIT Senates that wanted the IIT advanced test to be subjective and to be held on a different day than the common engineering test. Sibal, however, declined this suggestion of the IITs. “Our first priority was to reduce stress of exams on students and the next was to restore the importance of Class XII, which students don’t seem to take seriously,” Sibal noted.

Delhi Vs Rajasthan for Drinking Water

Delhi and Rajasthan do not have any comparison in terms of Water as Delhi is situated on Bank of Yamuna River while Rajasthan is state where 2/3 part is covered by Thar desert. One picture uploaded by friend on social media website Google+ remind me to think again on availability of water during summer in Delhi and Rajasthan, Which you may have noticed that for drinking water in delhi you have to Pay Rs. 1 for 150 ml. Glass of water while in Rajasthan Cold water is provided everywhere Free of cost which really make me feel proud being a Rajasthani.

Water Crisis in Rajasthan, Leaders need Political will

War for water is common in Rajasthan it becomes deepen as you travel from East to western Rajasthan or time travel from Winter to summer. From last 20 years Rajasthan is facing Continuous drought in western part while most of part gets frequent drought like situation which makes it more difficult situation in western rajasthan that comes under Thar desert of India. Water supply in summer is getting worst when some towns get drinking water supply once in 48 hours, on alternate day and  even most of Villages do not have water supply from Govt. of Rajasthan even after more than 65 years of Independence. The state Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) does care about rising water crisis across the state while the opposition BJP accuses the government of constantly postponing decisions to take the crisis head on. The situation in Jaipur is no better, despite the launch of Bisalpur-Jaipur water project as several areas, including the Walled City, water-related protests are common.
One report on water crises show that India, with 16 per cent of the humanity but less than 3 per cent of global fresh water resources. Rajasthan is very much at a disadvantage even in the Indian context. The population growth rate of the state is among the highest in the country. Demand for water from hitherto insubstantial uses, such as industry, tourism and recreation, as well as sanitation and environmental purposes, has been growing apace. The supply, however, has remained unchanged or drop. Nearly a third of the state is arid and another 30 per cent semi-arid, which implies that nearly two-thirds of the state suffers from recurrent water scarcity. In rajasthan from last 65 year Water Problem is only a political issue, no one care about the situation and how much worst it can be, if proper major are not taken to resolve the water problem. Mansoon rain is also low in rajasthan due to parallel alignment of arawali hills with mansoon. Govt. have to strengthen the relation with the neighbour state such as gujrat, MP, UP and punjab so that we can use the river resources and resolve the water problem. Hope our beloved Politicians and Bureaucrats will work on long term solutions for water problem instead of raising Fund on name of Water supply water tankers and work on Water Problem instead of using it as Vote bank slogan of "आपके गांव में पानी आएगा, अगर आप मुझे वोट देते हैं".

Facebook IPO: Fails to live up to all the Hype

The Facebook(FB) IPO Listed on US Stock exchange NASDAQ on Friday. Facebook's flat performance on its first day of trading raises questions about the stock's prospects. The social media giant's stock rose by mere pennies in its initial public offering. The shares closed at $38.23, barely above the $38 IPO price. Facebook, its founder Mark Zuckerberg on Friday rang the opening bell at the Nasdaq stock exchange. Zuckerberg rang the bell from the headquarters of Facebook in California. At USD 16 billion, the size of Facebook's IPO would be the third-largest for a US company. The largest offering ws that of Visa, that raised$17.9 billion in 2008.
Even after selling 30 million shares to pay his tax bill, Zuckerberg's remaining 503 million shares are worth more than $19 billion; that makes him richer than Google CEO Larry Page, whose wealth was estimated at $18.7 billion by Forbes this spring. But Jonathan Taplin, a communications professor at the University of Southern California, said Zuckerberg's wealth is not the reason for his appeal. "Zuckerberg is a cultural phenomenon," Taplin said, adding that many of his 20-something students look up to the young CEO. "People are amazed by the utility of what he's created." Facebook's astounding growth -- from its inception in a Harvard dorm room eight years ago to its current base of more than 900 million users around the world -- is changing the way people interact on both a personal and a commercial level. While the company reported $1 billion in profit last year on revenue of $3.7 billion, experts say its business model is still developing and faces many risks.

Rajasthan High Court revokes 99-year lease for Jal Mahal, BJP-Congress blame each other

Rajasthan High Court today ordered cancellation of the lease granted by the Rajasthan Government for renovation/revival and establishing a hotel at the famous Jal Mahal/Mansagar of Jaipur to a company and also ordered restoration of original character and form of the historic lake and its nullah/rivulets. The Court order came on PILs filed by Dharovar Bachao Samiti, Heritage Sanrakshan Society and Prof KP Sharma. The Court set aside the government lease orders and also held that the expenses to be incurred on dismantling/removal of the construction/structures brought up by the lessee Jal Mahal Resorts Pvt Ltd, would be borne by the company that was working on this project. The high court, while cancelling the lease and license agreements, has directed the private company, the Jal Mahal Resorts Pvt Ltd, to return the entire land to the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), which will pass it back to its original owners, the Jaipur Development Authority, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and the Public Works Department. The judgment has come as a blow to the state government which had been trying hard before the court as well as the state assembly to project the agreement to be in public interest. The government had given away 100 acres of priceless land of the ancient Man Sagar Lake to the private company for 99 years in return for an annual lease money of merely Rs 2.5 crore. The land's current market value is estimated to be anywhere between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 3,500 crore. Reacting on the High Court decision on Jal Mahal, both the Congress and the BJP were quick to pass the buck on to the other party, with the latter even blaming Ashok Gehlot for the decision during his first stint as chief minister. In spite of the blame-game the court decision to unshackle Jal Mahal from private hands is a slap on the face of successive state governments, which “surrendered the heritage property” in violation of rules.

MKSS Demads 200 days Employement in MGNREGA

Mazdoor Kishan Shakti Sanghatan(MKSS) has urged the Rajasthan Government to ensure 200-day assured employment in the current year under the MGNREGA to the most backward Saharia, Kathodi and Kherwa tribal people and early announcement of hike in the wages to MGNREGA workers at par to the revised rate of the minimum wages in the state. The NGO has raised the demands in a letter submitted today to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot who is ex-officio Chairman of the State Employment Guarantee Council. In the letter the NGO-working for tribals and toiling masses particularly in the rural areas, stated that in view of the miserable economic status of the above three tribes, state government on its own had given 200-day employment under the MGNGEGA to them last year. "This had impacted well and had provided them hope and energy for better life, hence this year too, people of these tribes be provided 200-day employment," the NGO spokesman Shanker Singh said. Besides, in view of recent hike of Rs 12 per day in minimum wage payable to daily wagers, the state government should take steps to effect similar hike in the wage payable to workers at MGNERGA works, he said.

"We are doing a lot of work towards the issue. "There is a certain judicial process (involved) to club together cases for trial in a fast track court." Aamir said he had made "a specific request to the chief minister that all cases related to the show" be decided at the earliest. The star said he was hopeful that his debut TV show, telecast on Doordarshan and Star Plus, would "touch people's hearts". "I am not an activist. I am an entertainer who tries to touch upon the feelings of people. I will take up 13 more issues in the upcoming episodes," he said. "Wherever such incidents occur, we will go," he told reporters.
