Govt withdraws LPG subsidy benefit to consumers with above Rs 10 lakh taxable income

Govt withdraws LPG subsidy benefit to consumers with above Rs 10 lakh taxable income. The change to effect initially on self-declaration basis while booking cylinders from January 2016 onwards. The Government has decided withdraw the benefit of LPG subsidy for LPG consumers, self of spouse, having taxable income of more than Rs 10 lakh during the previous financial year computed as per the Income Tax Act, 1961. At present, there are 16.35 crore LPG consumers in the country. With the implementation of the PAHAL Scheme (DBTL), the subsidy is being transferred directly to the Bank Account of 14.78 crore LPG Consumers.
The objective of the scheme was to ensure that the subsidy benefits go to the targeted group. The Government had also given a call to the well-to-do households for voluntarily giving up LPG subsidy. So far, 57.50 lakh LPG consumers have opted out of LPG subsidy voluntarily heeding the call given by the Prime Minister. The subsidy saved from the ‘GiveitUp’ campaign is being utilized for providing new connections to the BPL families under the ‘Giveback’ campaign. This enables provision of LPG, a clean fuel, to poor households by replacing the conventional fuels such as kerosene, coal, fuel wood, cow dung, etc. relieving the poor of the hardships and health hazards from such fuels. While many consumers have given up subsidy voluntarily, it is felt that consumers in the higher income bracket should get LPG cylinders at the market price. Therefore, the Government has decided that the benefit of the LPG subsidy will not be available for LPG consumers if the consumer or his/her spouse had taxable income of more than Rs 10,00,000/- during the previous financial year computed as per the Income Tax Act, 1961. In keeping with the approach of trusting the citizens, this will be given effect to initially on self-declaration basis while booking cylinders from January 2016 onwards.

DDCA row: BJP MP Kirti Azad suspended for targeting Arun Jaitley

BJP MP and former cricketer Kirti Azad was today suspended by party chief Amit Shah for publicly targeting Finance Minister Arun Jaitley with allegations of irregularities in Delhi’s cricket body DDCA. “Kirti Azad, Darbhanga MP, is suspended from party with immediate effect for his anti-party activities,” a BJP statement said. Azad, elected to the Lok Sabha from Darbhanga in Bihar, held the press conference on Sunday and alleged massive corruption in the affairs of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). The BJP MP, who has been backed by former India cricket captain Bishen Singh Bedi and sulking BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha, followed up the presser with an open dare on social media and barbs in Parliament targeting Mr. Jaitley, prompting the party to crack the whip.
Suspended from his party, the BJP, cricketer-turned-politician Kirti Azad has responded with a warning:  "Just watch what happens next... I'll show them." "My suspension is bad for the party, not me," Mr Azad told the media in Ahmedabad. "I have worked honestly for the party but I was branded anti-party. I have never spoken against the party."

Bajirao Mastani Movie Reviews

This Friday the two big Bollywood Movies, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Dilwale' and Ranveer Singh's 'Bajirao Mastani' released with some protests for both the film. While, 'Dilwale' faced protests in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district and Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad city, demonstrations were also held against Bajirao Mastani in Pune. Here is review of Bajirao Mastani Movies from various Daily news papers and websites to decide which movie is better to watch this weekend.
Bajirao Mastani Movie Reviews from various websites

Hindustan Times: **1/2 (2.5 Star) Deepika is brighter than Bhansali’s opulence
If you appreciate Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s opulence and grandeur, this won’t disappoint. It can be a good one-time watch, for Deepika’s performance, if not anything else.

Mid Day Rating:***1/2 (3.5 star)
Bhansali, in the two-and-half hour narration, transports you to a unique and stunningly beautiful world of Wadas and aayina mahal, Maharashtrian nathanis co-existing with ghunghroos and the traditional Pinga dance given a glamorous twist.

Koimoi.com Rating: ***1/2 (3.5 Star)
Not Deepika, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra lace this film with their brilliant performances. Watch the film for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s artistic vision and definitely Ranveer’s career-best act.

Deccan Chronicle Rating: ***(3 Star) | There is not a shade of Bajirao that Ranveer Singh does not perfect. A melodramatic climax aside, the film is undoubtedly a quality product, Bhansali always ensures that. But what makes it fall just short of excellence is the lack of the journey within. But a glimpse of the mind would have made the picture complete.

Indian Express Rating: *1/2 (1.5 Star) | Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh film is just a costume drama
Deepika Padukone is lovely, and creates sizzle with Ranveer Singh, but hasn’t melded with the part. It is hard to imagine anyone else as Bajirao after Ranveer Singh finishes chewing up the part .

Times of India Rating: **** (4 Star) BAJIRAO MASTANI HAS GUTS, GLORY AND GRANDEUR!

NDTV Rating: *** (3 Star) Bajirao Mastani is for those that think history is boring. There isn't a dull moment in this colourful and dramatic film that embraces excess with unabashed abandon.

Its Friday and the two big Bollywood Movies, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Dilwale' and Ranveer Singh's 'Bajirao Mastani' released today, 18th December with some protests for both the film. While, 'Dilwale' faced protests in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district and Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad city, demonstrations were also held against Bajirao Mastani in Pune. Here is review Dilwale from various Daily news papers and websites to decide which movie is better to watch this weekend.
Dilwale Movie Reviews from various websites

Hindustan Times: Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol reignite their chemistry.
Film knows it is a crowd pleaser, best enjoyed with a tub of popcorn. A pleasure for SRK and Kajol fans but if you want something substantial, look elsewhere.

Mid Day Rating:*** (3 star)
One thing is clear. If you expect depth or even a hint of novelty in the story, go watch some other movie. If you expect a lot of style and action crammed to the gills with masala, stay right here.

Koimoi.com Rating: **1/2 (2.5 Star)
Dilwale is not an enjoyable ride all the way. The film has its moments and mainly it is the predictability and cliches that kill it. One of the best scenes between Kajol and Shah Rukh comes right at the end but its too late to save the film then.

Deccan Chronicle Rating: **1/2 (2.5 Star) | The film doesn't have its heart in the right place
The thing about Dilwale is that it over promises and under delivers. In a bid to chase the Bollywood success formula of a masala flick, which Rohit Shetty undisputedly has cracked over the years, this film tried to pack too many punches in one. As a result, none are strong enough.

Rediff.com Rating: * (1 star)
Dilwale is an absolute dud. 'The contents are not merely un-fizzy but, unforgivably, flat,' Raja Sen says about Dilwale.

Bhiwadi Airport Project gets Government clearance

Government of India has granted site clearance to Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC) for setting up of a Greenfield Airport for public use near Bhiwadi, District Alwar, Rajasthan on 18.11.2015. The timeline for construction and the budget of airport projects depends upon various factors such as land acquisition, availability of mandatory clearances, financial closure, etc. by the individual operator for which the details are submitted to Ministry of Civil Aviation during the 'in-principle' approval stage. This information was given by Minster of State for Civil Aviation, Dr Mahesh Sharma in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.

MNIT Jaipur felicitats degree to 1177 students on its 10th convocation ceremony

Jaipur, December 11, 2015: India’s leading Technical and research institution, The Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur (MNIT) concluded its 10th convocation today i.e 11th December, 2015. This extravaganza event was graced by the Chief Guest Padma Vibhushan Prof. R. A. Mashelkar, Former Director General of the Council of Scientsific & Industrial Research (CSIR) and eminent scientists of India and the Guest of Honour Padma Shri Dr. Upendra Kaul, Executive Director – Academics & Research (Cardiology), Fortis Escorts Heart Institute. In 52 years the MNIT boasts 9 UG programs, 20 PG programs including PhD in all disciplines. The dignitaries were accompanied by Prof. I.K Bhatt, Director, MNIT, Jaipur alongwith all the faculties of MNIT. A total of 1177 degrees including 63 B.Arch, 740 B.Tech, 261 M.Tech/M Planning, 51 M.Sc., 27 MBA and 35 PhD degrees were awarded. About 9 students were awarded with gold medals and secured first position in B. Tech and B. Arch programmes. Similarly, 22 students of post graduate programmes also were awarded with Gold Medals for securing first positions.
Padma Vibhushan Prof. R.A Mashelkar, Former Director General of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) said, “I heartily congratulate the grandaunts of the day. We must realize that we are entering into a challenging VUCA world which is volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. MNIT as an institution over the years has fully equipped it’s students with skills and tools to deal with the challenges of the world confidently. ‘Education in innovation’ and ‘Innovation in education’ are the dire needs of the hour. World class universities will need to achieve this twin goal and MNIT Jaipur must have a dream to become a world class institution with seamless integration of education, research and innovation. Education disseminates known knowledge and Research creates new knowledge. ‘Ambience without Ambition and Ambition without Ambience has no consequences. MNIT has one of the best campus which is fully equipped to create bright ambitious young talent for the nation.”
Padma Vibhushan Professor R.A  Mashelkar also elaborated on three pillars for creating world class universities which included, excellence, autonomy and governance. He said, “Excellence- where mere teaching without research is futile. Uncompromising excellence in both teaching and research is important.  Autonomy- where autonomy or flexibility must flow across the university from teachers to students. Governance- where governance structure of Universities must change with changing times. Transparent regulatory mechanism that ensures accountability will instill a sense of confidence in the academic community and the society as well.” He shared his 10 golden rules to success such as a)Your aspirations are your possibilities b) Be limitless in your imagination as there is no limite to human endurance, human achievement and human imagination c)There is no substitute for hard work d)There is no instant success e) Success is not an accident f) Do not wait for opportunities to know the door, if the opportunity does not knock, build a door g) Remember that; Innovator is the one who sees what everyone else sees but thinks what no one else think h) Continue to be creative i) Remember, innovator is the one who does not know that it cannot be done j) Every India must stand for innovation and not inhibition or imitation.
Padma Shri Dr. Upendra Kaul, Executive Director – Academics & Research (Cardiology), Fortis Escorts Heart Institute said, “I feel honored and privileged to be invited for the 10th Convocation ceremony at MNIT, Jaipur.  Being a graduate from an esteemed institution such as MNIT, which has a track record of repute, puts a tremendous responsibility on the shoulders of this young talent. It is important that one must not forget to serve the people of their own nation,  living at the bottom of the pyramid and uplift their lives through concepts of smart cities which have been declared by our hon’ble Prime Minister. It is also important that one must not neglect the sectors already neglected such as healthcare, education and must build in-house technology, infrastructure and retain the talent that has been driven off-shore for better opportunities. The graduating talent must invest in education, healthcare, R&D and create the right atmosphere for positive growth.”
Prof. Upendra Kaul concluded by mentioning that, Work-Life-Balance is utmost important. To maintain these one must take care of both the body and mind which is most of the times neglected. He concluded with a teaching from Swami Vivekanand, ‘Teach yourself, teach everyone, his/her real nature, call upon the sleeping soul and see how it awakes. Power will come, glory will come, goodness will come, purity will come and everything that is excellent will come when this sleeping soul is roused to self-conscious activity which is in the interest of the well-being of the members of the society.’
Prof. I.K Bhatt, Director, Malaviya National Institute of Technology said, “I thank Padma Vibhushan Prof. R.A Mashelkar and Padmashri Dr. Upendra Kaul to take time out of their schedules and make their presence at the MNIT’s 10th Convocation Ceremony. It is a prestigious occasion where such eminent personalities have come together to not just grace the occasion but their presence has also motivated our students genuinely.  The institute has recruited faculty from across the globe having merit and this has drawn researchers and faculty having a combination of merit and diligence. Collaborations are crucial to accomplish high academic standards. These exchanges enrich the faculty and students to get new opportunities to interact and create linkages for future collaborations. Our faculty delegations at MNIT have presented various research papers in countries such as USA, Canada, France, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore. The institute’s tremendous focus has always been on research and excellence in academics which has led various global universities to sign up for collaborations and MoUs in the near future.”
Prof. I K Bhat further added, “The Malaviya National Institute of Technology has various plans and up-coming projects such as the Vivekanand Lecture Theatre Complex which will be operational in the next 2-3 months. The MNIT will be building over 200 residential accommodations to accommodate new faculty members who will be recruited. The institute will be constructing a complete sports complex in the near future with an estimated project cost of over Rs. 20 crore. We at the MNIT shall strive to upgrade our standards, create an environment of learning, innovation and entrepreneurship to provide excellence and aim to produce useful talent for our nation.”  The present intake for Undergraduate programs is 785 and for Post graduate program is 745. The institute has registered about 100 new PhD scholars for the year 2015-16 and has today around 500 PhD scholars working full time in the institute. The 10th Convocation Ceremony at the Malaviya National Institute of Technology was initiated with an academic procession including the chief guest, guest of honour, chairman senate and the senate members. The Registrar led the procession which ended at the convocation area. Convocation programme was concluded by singing the national anthem and the vote of thanks delivered by prof. Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, addressed the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in New Delhi today. Describing India’s journey towards a brighter future, the Prime Minister said India’s current position should be looked out in the global context, as well as the context of where India stood a few years ago. The Prime Minister explained his vision for economic reforms, and mentioned some of the major economic successes of the recent past, including GDP Growth Rate of 7.4%, and improvement in the ease of doing business. He said the ease of doing business could improve only because both the Centre and States worked together.
