Govt started 'Rajasthan Ratna award'

Rajasthan Government started "Rajasthan Ratna Awards" On the occasion of Rajasthan Foundation Day (March 30) for persons who have made distinguished contributions in the fields of art, culture and literature. Rajasthan Chief Minister(CM) Ashok Gehlot announced the names of seven distinguished Rajasthanis as the first recipients of the award.  Rajasthan Ratna awardees would be given Rs 1 lakh cash, a shawl and a citation. Rajasthan Ratna Award is on the lines of the highest civilian award “Bharat Ratna” conferred by the Centre.
First Rajasthan Ratna award 2011-12 Winners:
1. Allah Jilai Bai (1902-1992) was a folk singer who made the songs “Kesariya Baalam” and “Moomal” identical with Rajasthan. In pre-Independence India she used to sing in the court of Bikaner Maharaja Ganga Singh and was well versed in Maand, Thumri, Khayal and Dadra styles of classical singing.
2. Kanhaiyalal Sethia (1919-2008) hailed from Churu district and made outstanding contributions to Rajasthani literature and culture. His poems gave a peep into rural Rajasthan. 
3. Vijay Dan Detha was short listed for the Nobel Prize in literature for his short stories on Rajasthani life this year. His book “Bataan ri Phulwari”, while his short story “Duvida” inspire the Bollywood movie Paheli.
4. Jagjit Singh(1941-2011) gained recognition across the country as Ghazal singer, songwriter and musician. The government of India awarded him Padma Bhushan in 2003.
5. Laxmi Kumari Chundawat is an author and has been a member of the state assembly from 1962 to 1971 and a Rajya Sabha member from 1972 to 1978. She has also received the Padma Shri award in 1984 for her contribution to Rajasthani literature.
6. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt  won the Grammy award in 1994 for his album ‘A Meeting by the River’ with Ry Cooder. He is also a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Academy Award (1998) and Padma Shri (2002).
7. Komal Kothari (March 4, 1929 – April 20, 2004), commonly known as Komalda, was an Indian folklorist and ethnomusicologist from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. A pioneer in the study of Indian folkore, he is most known for his work on the folklore of Rajasthan and its links to Music of Rajasthan and its instruments. He founded the Rupayan Sansthan in the 1960, with Vijaydan Detha, an institute that documents Rajasthani folklore, arts and music.

Mewar Festival 2012 in Udaipur from 25-27 March

Mewar Festival 2012 will starts in Lake city Udaipur from 25 March to 27 March 2012. The Mewar Festival is celebrated to welcome the advent of spring. It coincides with the festival of Gangaur in Udaipur, and has a unique charm about it. The women folk gather to dress the images of Isar and Gangaur and then carry them in a ceremonial procession through different parts of the city. The procession winds its way to the Gangaur Ghat at Lake Pichhola.Here, the images are transferred to special boats amidst much singing and festivity. Oce the religious part of the festival is over, it is time for cultural events where Rajasthani culture is portrayed through songs, dances and other programmes. The festival culminates with an impressive fireworks display.bIdols of the procession are prepared and adorned by womenfolk. Dancing, singing, music concerts, firework displays etc. are the parts of the procession. The procession concludes at the Gangaur Ghat of Lake Pichhola. The idols of Isar and Gauri are transferred into special boats at the ghat. After the procession culminates, the cultural part of the Mewar Festival begins. Songs, dance performances and a number of other programs are organized that highlight the Rajasthani culture. This three-day festival ends with a beautiful display of fireworks.

Rajasthan Congress files Manu Singhvi, Narendra Budania for Rajya Sabha

Rajasthan congress party has re-fielded its sitting MPs Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Narendra Budania for the March 30 polls for the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. A party spokesman today said Mr Singhvi, a renowned lawyer and the AICC spokesman and Mr Budania also a sitting member to the Upper House, were reaching the state capital this afternoon to file their nominations. Election are being held on three seats of the Rajya Sabha from the state. The deadline for filing candidature in till 1500 hours on March 19, scrutiny will be done on the next day and withdrawal can be made by March 22, an election office spokesman said. Polling, if required, would be held on March 30, he said.
About Abhishek Manu Singhvi: Abhishek Manu Singhvi (born 24 February 1959) is an Indian politician belonging to Indian National Congress party and is presently a Member of the Parliament of India representing Rajasthan in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He is presently the spokesperson of the Congress party. Abhishek Singhvi was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan to Kamla and Laxmi Mall Singhvi, a renowned lawyer and India's former High Commissioner to the UK, who belonged to Bharatiya Janta Party. 
About Narendra Budania: Narendra Budania (born 1956) is a politician of the Indian National Congress from Churu in Rajasthan, India. He won Member of Parliament elections from Churu in 1985, 1996 and 1998. Presently he is Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan. He was born on 5 July 1956 in the family of Late Choudhary Pratap Singh Budania, a Hindu Jat, in village Dudhwa Khara, Churu District, (Rajasthan). He married with Smt. Kanak on 2 March 1980. Budget 2012-13 is for development - Ashok Gehlot

Rajsthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that budget proposals for 2012-13 as presented by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday, would strengthen the national economy and set the dimensions of development in various sectors. He said the budget proposals will prove to be an important document for the welfare of various sections of society, remarkable progress in education, health and infrastructure development besides establishing the fiscal balance. Gehlot said the allocation of Rs.15, 888 crore for capitalization of public sector banks. regional rural banks and other financial institutions, including NABARD, is a praiseworthy step. The extension of the "Swabhimaan" campaign would provide for the financial inclusion of more people.
He said investment in the 12th Five-Year Plan in infrastructure will go up to Rupees 50 lakh crore and would boost economic development. The chief minister said the hike in the allocation for the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) from Rs. 7, 860 crore to Rs. 9, 217 crore and the increase in target for agriculture credit to Rs. 5 lakh 75, 000 crore would provide relief to farmers. He said the hike in allocation for Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to Rs. 20, 000 crore, the increase of 21.7 percent for education, increase in allocation for NRHM from Rs. 18, 115 crore to Rs. 20, 822 crore would boost progress in these sectors.

Probe role of MLAs in Gopalgarh clash: Court

Special CBI court has ordered an investigation into the role of Zahida Khan, Congress MLA from Kaman constituency, Anita Singh, BJP legislator from Nagar constituency in Bharatpur district and a few others in the Gopalgarh violence case. On September 14, 2011, ten persons of Mev Muslim community were killed and few others were injured in clashes between members of Mev and Gujjar communities over a land-related dispute in Gopalgarh in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district. It was alleged that key witnesses had made statements attributing specific role to these legislators, but the CBI had not carried out investigation against them. Taking note of the statements made by accused, the special court directed the CBI to investigate role of the two MLAs and the two other persons. 
As per the chargesheet, 15 people belonging to Gopalgarh, Pahari and nearby villages have been charged under Section 302 (murder), Section 307 (attempt to murder), alongside Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging of his duties) of the IPC since a mob on September 14, 2011 had attacked the police. The CBI has also charged the accused under Section 435 of the IPC (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage) as many people had complained of damage to their agricultural produce.

Amity Jaipur Murder Case: Seven students on Police remand

Seven students of Amity University, Jaipur sent on Police remand for 1 day in the death of a 3rd year engineering student, Prashant Veer Singh, allegedly stabbed to death by his juniors at the Amity University, Jaipur. Police now claim to be a case of revenge killing over ragging. The police arrested seven students of the Amity University in the case late on Tuesday night and Police got remand of one day for seven students of Amity University for interrogation on Thursday who were allegedly involved in the murder of their senior Prashant Veer
Puneet Dalal, enrolled in the 1st year in Amity University happens to be the grandson of Karan Singh Dalal, former MLA from Palwal constituency, in Haryana. Puneet allegedly stabbed Prashant to death in the presence of law stream students Chiraj Chotwani, Rahul Singh, Abhimanyu Yadav, Anurag Sethi, Gaurav Yadav and Ajay Singh, late on Tuesday night. "We have arrested themain accused and they are being interrogated," additional superintendent of police (rural), Vineet Kumar Bansal, said.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination (10+2) in 2012 may also apply.
Age Limit:  Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1987 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1982 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education mark sheet / certificate only will be taken as authentic. 
Examination Scheme: RPET-2012 shall consist of single examination of three hours duration containing 40 objective type questions in each of the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total no. of questions will be 120 carrying one mark each. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer. The questions in the test booklet will be both in Hindi as well as in English.

Step-1 : Documents to keep ready in hand before starting of filling Online Application form.

i. Scanned image of his/her Photograph in jpg format (image size Maximum upto 100 KB)
ii. Scanned image of his/her Signature in jpg format (image size Maximum upto 50 KB)
iii. Copy of mark sheets of X, XI and XII (if passed already) examination.
iv. Details of income of his/her parents from all income sources.
v. Mobile no. of the candidate or nearest relative.
Step-2 : Filling of Online Application form.
i. Candidate must read instructions of filling the online application form carefully.
ii. The entries of online application form must be filled as required.
iii. Candidate should ensure that the photo and signature are same as uploaded by the candidate himself.
iv. The changes (if required) will be allowed in online application form before final submission.
v. Web page will not accept any changes after final submission of online application form.
Step-3: Taking Printouts in Hardcopy only after final submission of online application form.
i. Two printouts will be generated by the web portal after final submission (i) Challan (ii) Application Form
ii. Candidate must ensure that the application form no. and challan no. are same.
Step-4: Depositing the fees
i. Cost of RPET-2012 Application Form is Rs. 800/-. It also includes the RPET-2012 examination fees.
ii. Deposit Rs. 800 through challan in any branch of UCO Bank situated in Rajasthan State.
iii. Collect candidate’s copies of challan (which are in duplicate) from bank after deposition of fees in cash.
iv. This amount is neither refundable nor transferable nor adjustable for future RPET.
Step-5 : Submission of Application Form (Hardcopy) to the RPET-2012 office.
i. Attach all required documents as mentioned in checklist given in General Instruction. Write application
form no. on each document.
ii. Attach a copy of the challan with the application form.
iii. It is compulsory to send the application form (hardcopy) along with challan and photocopy of

Engineering student killed in Jaipur

Engineering college student stabbed to death in Jaipur. As per report a 21-year old student of Amity University Jaipur on Jaipur-Delhi highway was stabbed to death by other students late night near college campus.  The body of Prashant Veer, a third-year student of electronics and communication, was found 50 metres away from the campus. Police said Prashant was stabbed several times on his stomach. According to the police, Prashant, along with his classmates, went out after his classes at 5 pm. RPET Exam 2012 Notification, Dates, Colleges, Syllabus, Apply Online

Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test (RPET 2012) Notification has been Issued by Board of Technical Edication, Jodhpur Rajasthan. RPET 2012 Examination will be held on 17th May 2012 (Thursday) from 09.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon by Board of Technical Edication, Jodhpur Rajasthan at the centers in the following cities : Ajmer, Alwar, Banswara, Barmer, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Churu, Hindaun City, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Kota, Pilani, Sikar, Sirohi, Sri Ganganagar, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk and Udaipur. Board of Technical Edication, Jodhpur Rajasthan invites On line Applications from eligible candidates of Rajasthan domicile including the wards of Kashmiri Migrants for the registration of Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test - 2012 for admission to first year of undergraduate programmes leading to Bachelor’s degree in different disciplines of Engineering (B.Tech. / B.E.) in various Govt. aided and Private unaided technical institutions of Rajasthan (except BITS Pilani, MNIT Jaipur and other Deemed & Private Universities) for the session 2012-2013.
Educational Qualification: (i) The minimum academic qualification for admission to B.Tech./B.E. program in Rajasthan is a pass with  atleast 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to “SC/ST/ Non Creamy Layer OBC/ Non Creamy Layer SBC” of Rajasthan state) in the subjects combination as given below taken together, in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) of Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or any other examination recognized equivalent thereto by Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan/ Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
(ii) Subject combination required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech. / B.E course shall be
as under:
Compulsory Subjects:  Physics & Mathematics
Any one of the Optional Subjects:  (1) Chemistry (2) Bio-technology (3) Computer Science (4) Biology.
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination (10+2) in 2012 may also apply.
Age Limit:  Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1987 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1982 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education mark sheet / certificate only will be taken as authentic. 
Examination Scheme: RPET-2012 shall consist of single examination of three hours duration containing 40 objective type questions in each of the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total no. of questions will be 120 carrying one mark each. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer. The questions in the test booklet will be both in Hindi as well as in English.
How to apply Online for RPET 2012: Candidates must perform following activities while submitting the online application form at any of website http://www.rpet2012.org/ OR http://rpet2012.net/
Step-1 : Documents to keep ready in hand before starting of filling Online Application form.

i. Scanned image of his/her Photograph in jpg format (image size Maximum upto 100 KB)
ii. Scanned image of his/her Signature in jpg format (image size Maximum upto 50 KB)
iii. Copy of mark sheets of X, XI and XII (if passed already) examination.
iv. Details of income of his/her parents from all income sources.
v. Mobile no. of the candidate or nearest relative.
Step-2 : Filling of Online Application form.
i. Candidate must read instructions of filling the online application form carefully.
ii. The entries of online application form must be filled as required.
iii. Candidate should ensure that the photo and signature are same as uploaded by the candidate himself.
iv. The changes (if required) will be allowed in online application form before final submission.
v. Web page will not accept any changes after final submission of online application form.
Step-3: Taking Printouts in Hardcopy only after final submission of online application form.
i. Two printouts will be generated by the web portal after final submission (i) Challan (ii) Application Form
ii. Candidate must ensure that the application form no. and challan no. are same.
Step-4: Depositing the fees
i. Cost of RPET-2012 Application Form is Rs. 800/-. It also includes the RPET-2012 examination fees.
ii. Deposit Rs. 800 through challan in any branch of UCO Bank situated in Rajasthan State.
iii. Collect candidate’s copies of challan (which are in duplicate) from bank after deposition of fees in cash.
iv. This amount is neither refundable nor transferable nor adjustable for future RPET.
Step-5 : Submission of Application Form (Hardcopy) to the RPET-2012 office.
i. Attach all required documents as mentioned in checklist given in General Instruction. Write application
form no. on each document.
ii. Attach a copy of the challan with the application form.
iii. It is compulsory to send the application form (hardcopy) along with challan and photocopy of
documents to the following address through REGISTERED / SPEED POST (not through courier) :

The hard copy of complete application form along with requisite documents must reach at above address
latest by 5.00 P.M. of 16th April, 2012 irrespective of the fact that whether 16th April, 2012 is a working
day or not. The hard copy of the Application Form (RPET-2012) received after last date and time shall not
be accepted.
