Rajasthan gets 5 New Medical Colleges in Alwar, Bharatpur, Barmer, Dungarpur

There is good news for Medical aspirants and People of Rajasthan. The union government in its 12th five year plan has approved the opening of five new medical colleges in five districts of Rajasthan namely Alwar, Bharatpur, Barmer, Dungarpur and in one more district which will be selected on the recommendation of the state government.  With the opening of the medical colleges, health facilities in Bharatpur, Alwar, Barmer and Dungerpur are likely to improve further specially in Eastern and Southern Part of Rajasthan.
According to state government sources, the Centre would provide 75% of the funds required for the medical colleges. The rest will be the state government's share. The sources a total of Rs189 crore would be spent to establish the colleges. The funds would be utilized in construction of the building of the medical colleges and development of other facilities required. The Centre would provide the fund under the 12th five year plan.

Arvind Kejriwal resigns

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned on Friday night after suffering a defeat in the assembly on the Jan Lokpal Bill and in a political gamble he recommended dissolution of the assembly and holding of fresh polls. Bringing to an end a 49-day roller coaster ride in power, during which he received bouquets and brickbats in equal measure, the Chief Minister and his cabinet met for one last time when it decided to resign and make the recommendation to Lt Governor Najeeb Jung whose advice against the anti-graft Bill he had defied in the assembly. Goverment sources told that he has sent his resignation to Lt Governor Najeeb Jung shortly after a meeting of the Cabinet.
Addressing party workers at AAP headquarters, Kejriwal said his Cabinet has decided to recommend dissolution of the assembly and holding of fresh polls. Sharply attacking the Congress and the BJP for being in collusion to defeat the Jan Lokpal Bill, Arvind Kejriwal said that people will teach both the parties a lesson in future.

Prof CNR Rao, Sachin gets Bharat Ratna Award 2014

Professor CNR Rao and Sachin Tendulkar today joins the list of the nation's Bharat Ratnas today, 4th February 2014. The President awarded them India's highest civilian honour at a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. 
Dr CNR Rao, 79, is a  former director of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and currently works at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research in Bangalore. One of the most prolific chemists in the country, he still spends several hours every day in his laboratory and has published over 1500 research papers on materials science. He has been in the running for the Nobel Prize for many years. Mr Rao is the fourth recipient of the Bharat Ratna from the field of science.
Sachin Tendulkar is the first sportsman to be given the honour; he beat hockey legend Dhyan Chand to get the first Bharat Ratna. At 40, he is also the youngest.  A day after he retired from Test cricket last November, Tendulkar dedicated the Bharat Ratna "to all mothers of India."
