How to Book Railway / Train Ticket by SMS: Now you can book Railway / Train Ticket by sending SMS as Indian Railways from 1st July 2013 will provide facility on pilot project of ticketing through non-Internet-based mobile phones. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the initiative will enable people using non-Internet based mobile phones to easily access railway ticketing services through SMS/IVRS/USSD and the scheme is user-friendly, secure and also eco-friendly, as no printout is required.

How to Book Train Ticket by SMS Procedure: One has to register the mobile number with IRCTC as well as one’s bank. The bank will provide MMID (mobile money identifier) and OTP (one-time password) for authorisation of the payment. The passenger has to type the train number, destination, journey date, class and passenger details like name, age and gender on the SMS box. 

The sender will receive a transaction ID and then the customer can make the payment by way of sending another SMS by typing PAY followed by the transaction ID, MMID as received from the bank and the password.”“On successful booking of the ticket, a message will be sent to the user by the IRCTC which will suffice as the valid authority to travel along with the photo ID in original.

Six Fort from Rajasthan included in UNESCO World Heritage List

The 'Hill Forts of Rajasthan', six forts located on the rocky terrains of the Aravali mountains, made it to the World Heritage Sites list of UNESCO. The hill forts are Amber, Chittorgarh, Gangron, Jaisalmer, Kumbhalgarh and Ranthambore. Rajasthan's Tourism, Art and Culture Minister Bina Kak said: "The selection of these forts is a reflection of our work done in the past. We stand by our commitment towards conservation and protection of our rich cultural heritage, of which we are immensely proud." The minister added that the hill forts were approved in the 37th meeting of the World Heritage Committee in Pnom Penh, Cambodia, June 21. The selection of these forts as a serial cultural property is the first of its kind ever by the Unesco, she said. Kak added that the six forts will receive enhanced international recognition like the Jantar Mantar in Jaipur after it was selected for the World Heritage List in 2010. 

The selection will also pave the way for other monuments to be nominated for being included in the World Heritage List. Built between 18th and 19th centuries, the forts are excellent example of Rajput military hill architecture, which are found in palaces, temples, memorials and even in villages. Several missions of International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), an advisory body to the Unesco, have been visiting Rajasthan since 2011 and discussed the nomination with the state archaeology department, Archaeological Survey of India and the Indian Advisory Committee on the World Heritage under the union ministry of culture.

Rajasthan Chief minister (CM) Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday gives green signal to a group housing scheme for advocates in all districts for lawyers, which was a long-pending demand. Practicing advocates, registered in Bar Council of Rajasthan and are natives of the state, would be eligible for the Group Housing Building Societies in all districts. The advocates should have a minimum practice period of one year in state courts or in courts of other states and their annual income should be up to Rs 5 lakh. The housing policy will pacify a large group of advocates in the state, who have been demanding this for a long time and had agitated on several occasions.

Gurudas Kamat committed for Congress victory in Rajasthan Assembly polls

Mumbai MP Gurudas Kamat was appointed as a general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Sunday with responsibility of Rajasthan, which goes to polls this year. He will also be the AICC in-charge in Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Kamat said he has assured both Congress president and the vice president, that he will do his utmost to justify the confidence shown in him by giving him responsibility of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Daman and Diu, besides Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

"We will ensure that the communal elements do not get foothold in Rajasthan," former Union minister and Member of Parliament Kamat told PTI over phone from Mumbai. "Let me take over the job tomorrow...I am going to attend meeting in AICC, Delhi, then I will be able to comment more," he said, adding "Congress party in Rajasthan is in election mode...My best efforts would be to take every one together to get thumping majority in the upcoming assembly polls in Rajasthan".

JD(U) breaks alliance with BJP in Bihar

In a major setback to National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of next year's Lok Sabha election, the Janata Dal (United) broke its ties with BJP in Bihar, bringing to end a 17-year-old alliance that had held firm through thick and thin in national politics. Heading the eight-year-old coalition in the state, JD (U), which does not need BJP support to run the government, removed 11 saffron ministers from the state Cabinet and decided to seek a vote of confidence on June 19 in view of the "new situation." Sunday's development is a major jolt to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) which is now left with only three constituents -- BJP, Shiv Sena and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). JD (U) President Sharad Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced the break up of the coalition at a press conference, exactly a week after Modi was made the BJP's campaign committee chairman, considered just a step short of being made the prime ministerial candidate. Yadav also quit as Convenor of the NDA. "We cannot compromise with our basic principles. We are not worried about the consequences. As long as the alliance was Bihar-centric, there was no problem. But we had no alternative now. We are not responsible. We were forced to take this decision.

Teej Festival 2013 will be celebration from 9-13th August 2013 at Jaipur, capital of rajasthan. Teej is one of the most widely celebrated festivals of Rajasthan. Swings, traditional songs and dancing are the unique features of Teej celebrations in Rajasthan. Women perform traditional folk dance dressed in green colored clothes and sing beautiful Teej songs while enjoying their sway on swings bedecked with flowers. Teej is celebrated with immense fun and fanfare in the capital city of Jaipur. On this day, women and young girls wear their best clothes and adorn themselves with fine jewellery. They gather at a nearby temple or a common place and offers prayers to Goddess Parvati for well being of their husbands. Rajesh Pilot remembered on his death anniversary

Former Congress leader and renowned Farmer's leader, Rajesh Pilot on 11th June, Tuesday remembered on his death anniversary with people paying homage at various places. Rajesh Pilot (1945-2000) was an Indian politician and a minister in the Government of India. He belonged to the Indian National Congress party and represented the Dausa constituency in Lok Sabha. His death anniversary is celebrated as "Prerna Divas".

His original name was Rajesh Vidhuri. Rajesh Pilot died on June 11, 2000 in a car accident near Jaipur. On this occation we will like to share on lines from former leader Sh. Rajesh Pilot.

Save Great Indian Bustard | Save Godavan

Raajsthan Chief minister (CM) Ashok Gehlot launches 'Project Godawan' to save the Great Indian Bustards (GIB) from getting extinct at Sudasari closure at Desert National Park in Jaisalmer district. He stayed there for nearly one-and-a-half hours and saw nearly 12 Godawan. Once in contention for being nominated as the national bird of India, the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) is now on the brink of extinction with just 200 or so left in the wild. Rajasthan will implement a state-level action plan for the recovery of the state bird, known locally as the Godavan. The state is currently home to the largest global population of the bird. The bird also survives in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. 

Rajasthan Government has decided to spend `13 crore to save the habitat of the nearly-extinct Great Indian Bustards (GIBs).  Of the 200 such birds left in the country, 120 are in Rajasthan. It is also the state bird of Rajasthan. Rajasthan Forest Minister Bina Kak announced recently that `4.45 crore would be provided this year for the project, which involved habitat conservation and creation of water resources and an anti-poaching force among others. “We have been pushing for the project for long. We have campaigned in many states to create awareness and to get the governments to start the project.... It is hard to tell how many Rajasthanis have seen their state bird,” said an advocacy officer with the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS). The BNHS proposal to the state government to conserve the species has been approved.

Raj Kundra suspended from BCCI

Rajasthan Royals Co-owner Raj Kundra suspended from BCCI from having any involvement in cricket till the probe is over. The Delhi police commissioner had said that Kundra had confessed to betting on IPL matches. No action has been taken against the team for now. According to Delhi Police Special Cell, Kundra had admitted to placing bets to the tune of Rs. 1 crore on IPL matches in the last three years. The revelation, reportedly, sprung up during a 10-hour-long interrogation of Kundra last week.

Kundra is the second IPL team owner after Chennai Super Kings' Gurunath Meiyappan who is in the dock for alleged betting. The corruption scandal has overshadowed the on-field performance of Rajasthan Royals during the sixth edition of the IPL, which concluded on May 26. The Royals finished third this season, their first top-four finish since their triumphant campaign in IPL's inaugural edition in 2008.

RPET 2013 admissions process begins in Rajasthan

Board of Technical Education Rajasthan begins admission process through RPET (Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test) exam 2013 for admissions into more than 100 Engineering colleges affiliated to the Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota. The process will commence from June 10, 2013 (Monday) and the session will begin from August 1. “The seat matrix of affiliated colleges has been completed much in advance this year and we are hoping to begin the session on time,” said R P Yadav, vice-chancellor, RTU.

Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) offers courses in 26 branches of Engineering. Many colleges already begins process of direct admission through direct contacts to parents by sending SMS on registered No. of RPET 2013 exam. The biggest challenge is to fill all 61000 seats of Engineering colleges as nearly 60000 students appear in exam. Rupee hits lifetime low of 57.54 against dollar

The rupee on Monday plunged by 48 paise to hit its life-time low of Rs 57.54 in early trade on heavy dollar demand and the US currency strengthening against major rivals overseas. Forex dealers said a firming dollar against euro and other currencies in the global market on the back of better-than- expected US jobs report and strong demand for the American currency from importers mainly weighed on the rupee. The rupee had lost 22 paise to close below the key 57- mark at 57.06 on Friday against US dollar for the first time in a year.

Analysts and traders will now watch for any possible intervention from the central Reserve Bank of India to stem any further weakening of the currency. The widening of India`s current account deficit -- the broadest trade measure -- to just under five percent of gross domestic product in the last financial year from 4.2 percent the previous year has also weighed on the rupee. The weaker currency makes imports costlier, especially of foreign oil on which India relies heavily, and will stoke already high consumer inflation.

Fake Blast Threat in Jaipur by a Woman to teach boyfriend lesson

Peeved over the marriage of her boyfriend, a 25-year-old woman with an intention to land him in trouble sent an e-mail to chief minister's office and Jaipur police threatening a bomb blast on June 13, 2013. Police said Ritu Sharma had an affair with Amit Jain, who was married to some other girl some time back. Annoyed over the issue, Ritu sent the e-mail from a fake id to Chief Minister's Office, DGP, Jaipur Police commissioner and other police officers yesterday.

On Wednesday, an e-mail stating blasts in Jaipur on June 13 had put the officers of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and of Jaipur police commissionerate in a tizzy. Jaipur police said the girl, a jilted lover, wanted to entangle her ex-lover in a serious case. After receiving this "threat" mail, the police intel and cyber crime unit officers of the commissionerate rushed to Amit Jain's residence at Pratap Nagar and brought him for interrogation. Meanwhile, cyber crime experts traced the IP address to a café in Vaishali Nagar. The cyber cafe owner verified that a woman named Ritu had visited the cafe yesterday. Initially, a team was sent to the woman’s place and during interrogation, she confessed and said she wanted to teach Amit a lesson. “The woman, in order to save herself, had also created a fake mail-id to send the mail,” Meena added. The woman has been booked under Section 66-A of IT Act. “She will be produced in a court on Friday,” Meena added.

Rajasthan Royals owner Raj Kundra confesses to IPL betting

Rajasthan Royals' owner Raj Kundra has admitted to indulging in betting and placed bets on his own team, Delhi Police claimed on Thursday, as it confiscated his passport to ensure that he does not leave the country during investigations into the IPL spot-fixing scandal. Kundra, a British national, was questioned for 11 hours on Wednesday, after cricketer Sidharth Trivedi told police that Kundra's business partner-friend Umesh Goenka used to ask for information regarding team formation and pitches. Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said, "He has admitted to betting. He used to bet on his own team. We have also come to know that he has lost a lot of money in betting. He used to bet through Goenka, who is also a bookie," he said. Kundra is the second IPL team owner after Chennai Super Kings' Gurunath Meiyappan who is in the dock for alleged betting. If the charges against the owners are proved, BCCI can suspend the teams from the IPL.

The corruption scandal has overshadowed the on-field performance of Rajasthan Royals during the sixth edition of the IPL, which concluded on May 26. The Royals finished third this season, their first top-four finish since their triumphant campaign in IPL's inaugural edition in 2008. Since the 2008 triumph, Royals have been embroiled in various controversies. The team - owned by a consortium of four business conglomerates - was often accused of having been given by soft corner by founding chairman Lalit Modi. Suresh Chellaram, whose family owns the largest stake in the Royals, is Modi's brother-in-law. As a result, Modi's ouster from the BCCI and IPL was soon followed by the BCCI expelling Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab for a breach of the franchise agreement. However, Royals took the legal recourse and were reinstated into the IPL well in time before the 2011 auction.

(Candidates from Dholpur District can get ID No. by depositing DD of Rs. 2000/-)
Step 3 : Fill option of colleges & bank Transaction ID
