He attended the Rishi Valley School in Andhra Pradesh, India. Varun studied law and economics at the London School of Economics, and then completed his Masters from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. Varun was exposed to politics from an early age as his mother, Maneka, was politically active since his birth.
In August 1999, at the young age of 19, Varun started addressing public meetings during this election campaign. He is currently a member of the BJP National executive and one of the main political campaigners of the party. He is seen by party seniors and political analysts to be the youth face of the party and to be the front runner for the third generation leadership of the party in the future.
He wrote a book of poems titled "The Otherness of Self". Varun was below 25 years of age during the 2004 General Elections, and hence could not contest. He was seen by many to have risen in the BJP ranks too quickly.
In January 2008, the media has reported that his mother Maneka will vacate her six-time constituency of Pilibhit for Varun during the 2009 elections, while she will contest from neighboring Anwla .
Recent Controversy:
A video emerged allegedly showing Varun Gandhi making communal remarks. He allegedly said
"If somebody lifts a hand against Hindus, or thinks they are weak, there is nobody behind them, then I swear on the Bhagavad Gita that I will cut off that hand".
BJP president Rajnath Singh has said that the recording is doctored and the BJP will not accept the comission's advice. Varun gandi is now a new companion brand for election 2009. Today's arrest show how famous he is because of some communal remark, Politicians whether BJP or Congress are making communal remark which will be too dangerous for nation integrity. This is time when people have to think and should not vote for communal politics. Now days both parties do not have too much issues for election so congress and RJD is showing sympathy to one community and BJP showing to another so that they can get their vote.

Gujarat Minister Mayaben Kodnani surrendered in Gujrat riot case

Gujarat Minister Mayaben Kodnani has surrendered after resigning from the Narendra Modi Cabinet, following cancellation of her bail by the Gujarat High Court. Kodnani along with VHP leader Jaideep Patel are the prime accused in one of the cases relating to the post Godhra communal riots of 2002.
Kodnani, who is accused of leading mobs in Ahmedabad's Naroda Patiya and Naroda Gaam areas in which 106 people were killed during the 2002 sectarian violence, submitted her resignation soon after the court verdict came in.In his order, Justice DH Waghela said: "Maya Kodnani was leading a mob but still did not control them (mob). This is nothing less than organised crime." The BJP government in the state put up a brave face saying the court ruling against the minister, who holds the triple charge of higher education, women and child welfare, was not an embarrassment to the BJP.
Kodnani had been named by the Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) as one of those who encouraged rioters to attack Muslims in the Naroda Gaam and Naroda Patiya localities in the immediate aftermath of the Godhra train burning on February 27, 2002. Witnesses in the Kodnani case also told the SIT that they were being harassed over the phone and being told to drop charges against the minister. The Godhra train burning led to widespread attacks on Muslims in the state, leading to 1,180 people, mostly Muslims, being killed.

Jodhpur congress candidate Chanderesh kumari's welcome gathering, congress worried

Chandersh kumari, Congress candidate from johpur get royal welcome at Jodpur Airport making a big impact in jodhpur politics. There were hardly 500-600 people who turned up to welcome Chandresh, when she reached Jodhpur on Wednesday afternoon, the first time after her name was declared. This below par turnout of the party workers from the chief minister's constituency and his home town, has triggered a discussion among the citizens.
As she is part of roayal family, a huge welcome was expected but a less gathering cause worry amongs congress. Keeping their ties with the BJP aside, the royal family issued a statement pledging their support to her and appealed to the people of Jodhpur to contribute to her victory. Not even a single MLA from the assembly constituencies of Jodhpur, pradhans or sarpanchs came forward to welcome her. The entire scenario appeared to have sent a clear message that she is an outsider and has left the party workers dissatisfied with the choice.
A Rajput leader, Ram Singh Kharia said, "She is new here and does not know anybody and not many know her." Even the Rajput community appeared divided over her candidature. Many dedicated party workers said that there are some who want to damage her prospects and do not want her to win, which includes some established leaders as well.

Rise of Jat woman's contribution in rajasthan Politics

In rajasthan it is not Nehru-Gandhi family's daughter hitting politics but jat Daughters. Jat politicians in Rajasthan, making way for their daughters. This polls brings some of such candidates.
1. The 36-year-old, Congress candidate from Nagaur Lok Sabha constituency, Joyti Mirdha, is the latest to join the band of Jat Daughters. Jyoti is granddaughter of the late Nathuram Mirdha, the only Congress candidate in north India to win in the post-Emergency 1977 Lok Sabha elections. He had won the Nagaur seat. A 1996 MBBS graduate from Jaipur-based SMS Medical College and mother of a two-year-old son, Jyoti, may be a toddler in active politics, but her upbringing has helped her learn the real-life challenges of it.
2. Divya Maderna, the 26-year-old daughter of state water resources minister, Mahipal Maderna, and granddaughter of Parasram Maderna is another Jat girl, recently baptised into active politics. The father-son Maderna duo was seeking a Congress ticket for Divya in LS polls either from Pali or Barmer. Divya recently addressed a huge gathering in Osian assembly constituency, which is represented by her father.
3. Former state speaker Sumitra Singh, daughter of Jhunjhunu region's Jat leader, Laduram Choudhary.
4. Former deputy chief minister Kamla, daughter of Netram Singh and ex-MLA.

Lalu Paswan and Mulayam annouced a new Secular Alliance in UP and Bihar

RJD, LJP and SP, announced the formation of a "secular alliance" that will contest 120 seats in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar unitedly. "We three are together. We will fight jointly in North India. We will not clash with each other in the two states having 120 Lok Sabha seats," Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh declared at a press conference in New Delhi.
LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan said in Patna that he had talked to SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav and RJD leader Lalu Prasad and the three parties would provide an "alternative" in the fight against "communal forces". The formal announcement of the alliance would be expected at a function here on March 30.
Now this secular drama seems to be more intersting in Lok sabha election. They have only one word "Secular", Does this secular word have done any public walefare in last 20 years at UP and Bihar. From my opinion this is just a group that know only thier own benifit..noting else.

Mallya said that Dravid, who was captain in the last season where Bangalore finished seventh in the competition, was supportive of the decision. He is also Bangalore's icon player. "Rahul Dravid has not only participated in this decision but is also supportive of it," he said. He added that Dravid might not be available for the IPL as well with his wife expecting a child. "There is uncertainty surrounding Rahul's availability because his wife is expecting a child," he said. "How can you predict when a baby comes? That is the reason we chose two players who are certain. Rahul is very relaxed about not being the captain. Plus if he's unavailable then it won't make any difference. It was a practical decision."

BCCI has called for an emergency meeting of its all-powerful Working Committee in Mumbai on Sunday to take a final call on the IPL Season 2 which is under a cloud uncertainty because of security concern. The board is mulling over three options regarding the holding of the second edition of the Indian Premier League. This meeting may consider three options:
1. to truncate the tournament.
2. holding some matches in India and the remaining overseas(South Africa and England)
3. the third option is to call it off.
The meeting of the Working Committee has been convened urgently following the cloud of uncertainty over the lucrative Twenty20 event because of security concerns as it clashes with the Lok Sabha elections. After the Working Committee meeting, the BCCI will talk to the franchise owners before a final decision is taken. The meeting has been called in the wake of reservations expressed by many top state police officials over providing security to the high-profile TWenty20 League, in which matches, to be held at many centres, clashed with the Lok Sabha elections.
