Congress anounce Youth and Experience candidates for Rajasthan Election 2008

Congress went for a mix of youth and experience when it finalized its list of 116 candidates for Rajasthan on Wednesday. The names of sons and daughters of several senior leaders figure in the first list. Although party leaders termed it a balanced list, they point out that the next lot of 84 tickets would be a tougher call to decide in view of the intense rivalry between the factions. Party insiders said none of the major satraps in Rajasthan Congress has been able to corner most of the seats. The groups led by Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot and state party chief C P Joshi have got a fair number of tickets without being able to dominate the list. However, it is being pointed out that quite a few tickets have gone to candidates accused of land scams in and around Jaipur. The Rahul Gandhi effect was also visible in Rajasthan as the party has given a considerable number of tickets to youthful aspirants in their thirties. Nearly 20 of the 116 are from the youth brigade. Youth Congress activists like Neeraj Dangi and Ved Prakash Solanki — both Dalits —have got the tickets to enter the fray. This new focus on youth — visible after a long time — is being attributed to party general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s interventions on behalf of the Youth Congress — the organisation he looks after.

Roadside Romeo
Director: Jugal Hansraj
Voices of: Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Javed Jaffrey, Sanjay Mishra
Rating: ***
Roadside Romeo is good animation movie from Indian perspective. In fact this animation is at par with any modern-day Hollywood flick and the spirit is true-blue Bollywood to the core.

Heroes
Director: Samir Karnik
Cast: Sohail Khan, Vatsal Sheth, Salman Khan, Preity Zinta, Sunny Deol
Rating: ***1/2
‘Heroes’ trails the lives of three martyrs of the 1999 Kargil war highlighting how their sacrifice was significant for the nation and simultaneously how their bereavement affected the lives of their families. It starts with the age-old army tradition where, just before the dawn of the war, army-men write letters to their beloved which aren’t posted. These sentiments of their last moments open a new chapter of heroism.

Hindu Sadhvi and ex-ArmyMan suspect in Malegaon Blast

After the arrest of a once-feisty sadhvi with links to saffron groups, the Malegaon bomb blast case has taken another serious turn withthe possible involvement of ex-Armymen, one a retired major. Mumbai's anti-terrorism squad (ATS), which is investigating the blast that killed six people ahead of Id, detained three people, including an ex-Army officer and a retired jawan.
This is first time in india that any Hindu person is suspected in such kind of activities, while there is no place for terrorism in hindu religion. If these people are really involved then they have done a shameful work of killing innocent people.

Cost of Chandraayan Vs. IPL Rights

This is disaster which India is facing. If you think India is spending a lot money on ISRO( India Space Research Organization) for Research work then you are absolutely wrong. This is time to think which way we are going and what will be its outcomes and how it affect our country.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) spent just over Rs 380 crore (about half the price of a Jumbo Jet) on Chandrayaan-1, with 1,000 scientists toiling over it for three years. A similar effort by NASA or any other space agency would have cost at least five times more. In real terms, Chandrayaan-1 cost only about 4% of Isro's budget over three years.
The next big goal: Chandrayaan-2. The deadline: 2010. The cost: Rs 500 crore. That is still only one-tenth of IPL rights.
Can you imagine this is happening. there are lot of thing where we need changes. salary of a ISRO Scientist is around 18000, which is less than a call center guy. so this is time we have to think and try to change the scenario if we can.

BJP sews up two Jat alliances in Election 2008

he BJP is set to seal two crucial seat-sharing deals in the next fortnight — with the RLD in Uttar Pradesh, and INLD in Haryana. The alliance with Mr Om Prakash Chautala’s outfit will be announced shortly, to be followed by an announcement on the alliance with RLD soon after. The partnership with the two Jat-dominated outfits is expected to give a fillip to the NDA’s prospects in Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh. While Mr Ajit Singh’s party is likely to be allocated Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnore/Nagina, Mathura/Saharanpur/Amroha, the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana are likely to be apportioned on a 6:4 ratio, with the BJP cornering six seats, and INLD contesting the remaining four seats. While the BJP will be allowed to field candidates from Ambala, Karnal, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rohtak and Sonepat, INLD will be earmarked Bhiwani, Hissar, Kurukshetra and Sirsa.

In the 1999 Lok Sabha polls, BJP and INLD had contested five seats each in Haryana. This time round, however, Mr Chautala, keen to enlist the backing of the saffron party, is willing to concede the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat to BJP. In return, he has been assured INLD will be awarded the lion’s share of seats during assembly elections scheduled for 2010.

Jat community is divided in Election 2008

The Jat community in Rajasthan are a divided lot. The Jat community which had been backing the Congress and is considered the of Congress are now supporting four different parties including the Ajit Singh's Rashtriya Lok Dal and Om Prakash Chautala's Indian National Lok Dal.

While the general secretary of All India Jat Mahasabha (AIJM) Yudhvir Singh has categorically stated that the AIJM will not issue any guidelines on the issue of supporting any party or any candidate as it is a social organisation, he overruled the statement of the patriarch of the community Gyan Prakash Pilania, who had categorically stated that the community will not support both INLD and RLD. Yudhvir Singh when asked whether they consider BJP president Vasundhara Raje a Jat as she is married to a Jat principality of Dholpur, he replied that as she was married to a Jat the community would accept her as "Bahu". Pilania’s statement was opposed by the RLD supporters and they questioned the authority of Pilania to issue such statement.

While the RLD workers were vociferous in their protest, the INLD did not react as vehemently as RLD. After Yudhvir Singh issued show cause notice to the president of Rajasthan Jat Mahasabha under the aegis of which the statement was issued by Pilania, a greatly disturbed Pilania said the Jat community of the state have contributed during the freedom movement and have also been active in politics for over five decade now. There is no dearth of leadership within the community in the state and it would not like outsiders to come and do politics in the state. Pilania was critical of Ajit Singh and said the Rajasthan Jat Sabha will not allow Ajit Singh to have his base in the state. "Let me be specific and I would like to state that Rajasthan cannot become a colony of any party as it’s not a political orphanage." added Pilania.

However, Rajaram Meel's stand on INLD and RLD has irked the community. The Jats feel that Pilania is guided by Meel and as Meel, who is a liquor contractor is opposed to one of the son of Chautala, who also has interest in liquor business, Meel is opposing INLD. Meel did not reply to the notice served on him by the AIJM. A large number of Jat leaders were present when former Union minister Jagdeep Dhankar joined the BJP on Friday. The large presence of Jat leaders at Dhankhar's function was a small hint that the Jats may support the BJP. But more than 30 Congress MLAs are Jats and they would contest the forthcoming Assembly elections once again.
Would the Jat community not support their brethrens again? Its a million dollar question. The wise among the community is against showing any solidarity of the community as it would antagonise other communities and they may collectively decide to oppose a Jat.

There is new OBC Creamy layer and N0n-creamy layer Ceiling Range suggested by central govt. Acting on a Government directive, the NCBC has obtained suggestions from commissions from 20 states on the income ceiling of the creamy layer and is in the process of getting similar views from other eight states. Most of the state commissions have recommended revision of the income limit for creamy layer classification from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh.
