'Finish it, finish it' - Sehwag on Sachin's Double ton

"I am the superstitious kind. I never praise a shot because I fear the moment I do so, the batsman gets out. Till Sachin was on 190 in Gwalior, I was rooted in my seat in the dressing room. But when he got to 190, I couldn't contain myself. I came out and started cheering every stroke till he got to 200," Sehwag recalled. While Tendulkar reached the magical figure in a controlled manner, relying on singles and doubles, the Delhi marauder said he would have finished it off in a hurry. "When he got to 180, I knew he was going to get it, but when he was in the 190s I was concerned. If I was in his place, I would have tried to finish it quickly, because the longer I take, the greater the possibility of me getting out. I would try to wrap it up in three or four balls.
"Also, he was looking really tired: he had been clutching his right side and showing signs of cramping. So when I stepped out of my seat, I was just saying, 'Finish it, finish it'," he wrote in his column for 'Cricinfo'. Sehwag said Tendukar's patience and control over his innings, makes him an altogether different batsman.
Sachin, Sehwag and praveen dropped from 3rd ODI: Sachin Tendulkar, who became the first player in the world to score a double century in ODI, would be rested along with dashing opener Virender Sehwag for the third and final ODI against Proteas to be played at Ahmadabad on 27th February. BCCI Selection Committee Chairman Krish Srikkanth told reporters that these players including Praveen Kumar were being rested.

Congress have NO answer on Price issue at Rajasthan Assembly

Congress have NO answer on Price issue at Rajasthan Assembly that is what seen yesterday at assebly while BJP members blaming congress for issue rise in india and state. Rajasthan Assembly for two-and-a-half hour as Opposition members pressed for an adjournment motion. They marched into the well, raising ''anti-government'' slogans and forced the Chair to order two successive adjournments for a total period of two hours. As soon as Speaker Deependra Singh Shekhawat took up Zero Hour business, BJP whip Rajendra Singh Rathore and 17 others wanted to press for admission of their adjournment motion on the issue. Several members including BJP deputy leader Ghanshyam Tiwari rose to press for immediate discussion on the "burning issue" of the price rise. Mr Tiwari cited several rulings from the Lok Sabha and state legislature and said such issues of people's concern could be taken up for immediate discussion under rule 50 of the House Business Conduct Rules. However, the Speaker, who had earlier disallowed the motion, did not change his mind and tried to persuade the members to allow the scheduled business.
The agitated Opposition members resorted to slogan shouting and gathered in front of the first row of seats. This continued for sometime and ended with the adjournment of the House for an hour. The Opposition members have been trying to raise the issue of price rise in the house ever since the start of the session on February 22. When the House resumed at 1320 hrs, Chairperson Major O P Yadav tried to take up the business, but Mr Amara Ram(CPM) and Mr Rathore were again on their feet to persisting with their demand of immediate discussion over the issue. They alleged that corruption and apathy in the concerned departments in the state government were responsible for adding to ''price rise-related woes'' of the people. Therefore, the state government was answerable in the House.

Abhay deol's Road Movie shooting experience in Rajasthan by Director

Director dev benegal share experience while shooting road movie with Abhay deol's in Rajasthan.
He said Shooting for Road, Movie in the soaring temperatures of Rajasthan was no cakewalk When director Dev Benegal chose to shoot his film Road, Movie in Rajasthan little did he know about the adversities he would face there. The film follows Vishnu (Abhay Deol) a restless young man, who wants to get away from his family business. He starts a moving cinema business, travelling all over Rajasthan in a truck. Since the story was set in Rajasthan, Benegal wanted an authentic look and was determined to shoot in Kutch, and in and around Jaisalmer. “I was told that since we were shooting in the months of August-September, which is the season just after the monsoons, we would get good weather. But from the onset itself the weather played truant. It was 49 degrees Celsius when we reached Jaisalmer, and it soon shot to 52 degrees,” said Benegal. He recalled how every day there would be a new story on the sets because of the intense heat. “The cameras started melting, nimbu pani had to be served constantly and some people almost fainted!” he grinned.
The truck is an integral character of the film and was especially designed to suit the local terrains of Rajasthan. Though it had a new engine it had the body of an old Chevy and refused to travel more than 50 km per hour. Abhay recalled how the wind shield was too low and he had to bend to look through. “Not only was it non-ac but three of us stuffed were inside. At times it became almost unbearable to sit in there,” laughed Abhay. But facing all the adversities bonded the whole cast and crew together. Said Benegal, “We would cook together, eat together and handle all the crises together. We became a family.” Road, Movie release on March 5

Rajasthan gets New Trains, Duranto, World class station from Rail budget 2010-11

Rajasthan got 17 new trains apart from rise in the frequency of 3 trains. The tally got almost doubled to the last year when she gifted nine new trains to the state. At the same time, it was again deprived of superfast long distance train to North-East where Rajasthani expatriates live in a large number. The new trains include a bi weekly Duranto Express from Jaipur to Mumbai besides four Bharat Teerth trains to connect several pilgrimage centres to the religious places in Rajasthan. The railway minister also announced a new Janmbhoomi train connecting Ahmedabad and Punjab covering the interiors of Rajasthan. Apart from that, she introduced nine Express trains and two passenger trains. The Express trains include bi-weekly Hyderabad-Ajmer, thrice-a-week Ahmedabad-Agra and weekly Kolkata-Ajmer Express among others.
The minister also announced setting up of multi functional complexes at Abu Road, Kishangarh and Sikar. She also announced to set up outdoor patient department and diagnostic centre - one each at Medta Road, Naguar, Pali Marwar and Rani besides opening three tier multi speciality hospitals at Bandikui and Rewari. The minister proposed to initiate rail connectivity in socially desirable areas like Ajmer-Kota, Deoli-Tonk-Sakatpura and Nokha-Sikar among others. With Congress in power at both center and state, Rajasthan was expecting major announcements in strengthening railway infrastructure in the state. The Shekhawati region of the state has an old railway network set up during the feudal era. A large area under this region has either no railway network or has a metre gauge. Tribal districts like Banswara and Dungarpur have a little or no prominent rail links. Apart from that, Rajasthan needed few trains which could link up Jaipur with other important cities of North like Hardwar. "Ms Banerjee could have given more and faster trains for North-East as well as South. A large number of businessmen from Rajasthan are settled in Assam and Chennai. Faster trains to these stations would have meant convenience for these traders," the official added.

News channels to Boycott IPL Coverage

The confrontation between broadcasters and IPL reached a flashpoint with the News Broadcasters Association, the body of top news channels of India, announcing that all its members would boycott the IPL. Talks between IPL and official broadcaster SET Max, on the one hand, and the news channel, on the other, broke down when IPL/SET Max refused to consider any of the issues raised by NBA and said the terms set down by them for coverage were non-negotiable. This means there will be no surround sound about IPL matches on TV channels, although the game itself would be telecast by SET Max.
IPL chairman Lalit Modi did not respond to calls or messages. But he tweeted, ‘‘News channels never had rights to broadcast IPL. Those are exclusively SET Max. You will see all matches on Set live…You can get regular news of all IPL related stories as they happen on IPLT20.com.’’ The NBA, which represents 34 news channels, is opposed to the new terms that are more stringent than those set down by IPL in 2008, the last time IPL was played in India.

The passengers were on their way from Muraina in Madhya Pradesh to Jalaun to attend a wedding.

Kapil sibal ask for Common Syllabus from 2011-12 at Schools

Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) on Tuesday took a “unanimous” decision to adopt a core curriculum for physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics at the senior secondary level. The new curriculum will come into effect from the 2011-12 academic year, Union Minister for Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal said here after a daylong meeting with member-boards of COBSE to forge unanimity for the core curriculum. Mr. Sibal described the decision as a “milestone in the history of education.” Though the meeting began with scepticism among some boards, the Minister claimed that apprehensions were addressed, and now “there will be a core curriculum which will be accepted by all stakeholders at the senior secondary level.”
“What it means is that in all schools of India affiliated to boards that are members of COBSE, the core curriculum will be taught, so that all our children have a level-playing field.” The core curriculum for these four subjects has been finalised after consultations within COBSE. While the boards will have to draw up the syllabi on the basis of the core curriculum, they will have to work out how to tailor their examinations as per the new regime. And, now that a beginning has been made with the pure sciences and mathematics, COBSE has been asked to explore the possibility of replicating this in the commerce stream. Today’s meeting was attended by representatives of 20 boards, including State boards.

Success lessons from Mumbai Dabbawallahs at BITS Pilani

Unbeatable coding systems, customer focused approach, sense of discipline at every level, teamwork and great personal values are the factors responsible for the success of Mumbai Dabbawalas. This was revealed by Mr Kiran Gawandhe of Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Suppliers Association (NMTSA) at a talk he delivered to the management students and teachers at the 33rd Interface, which is the All India Management Conference, held at BITS Pilani on 13th February 2010. At a jampacked conference hall of the Institute, Mr Gawandhe said that every morning, the lunch box is collected from nearly 200,000 homes of Mumbai between 9 and 10 30 am and the boxes are delivered at the destination between 12 and 12 30 pm. The unique coding on every lunch box which is designed for illiterates, clearly indicates wherefrom the lunchbox comes, where it has to go and which route it needs to take. A 120 year old organization, Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Suppliers Association (NMTSA), which started in 1880 with 4 people has grown now to 5000 dabbawalahs delivering 2,00,000 lunchboxes everyday, which means over a million transactions a day, said Mr Gawandhe. With yearly turnover of 7 million lunch boxes delivered per year, this is a classic example of well managed business that cannot be replicated, said Mr Gawandhe.
Entire system works on teamwork and meticulous timing. Lunch boxes are collected at the exact time from homes and taken to the nearest railway stations. Adding humor, Gawandhe said “Bhabhijis are not afraid of their husbands, but they are afraid of the dabbawallah since he will not wait even a second, he will simply go away if the lunch box is not ready”. The boxes are sorted out for area wise distribution so that a single lunch box could change hands 3-4 times in the course of its journey. Precision rate is extraordinary. Several studies conducted on the Dabbawala system, found that wrong deliveries happen one in sixteen million, which is much below the rates accepted by Six Sigma standards, said Gawandhe. NMTSA has undergone both Six Sigma and ISO certifications, he said. Some people use the lunch boxes to send messages to husbands or send the spectacles they forgot to take to offices, said Gawandhe.
Training for the new Dabbwalas are given by the senior ones. NMTSA regulates all activities of the Dabbawalas, solve possible conflicts between them or with customers. It has the authority to fire or fine a ‘bad dabbawala’ said Gawandhe. Dabbawalas use bicycles, push carts or walk at the delivery point. On a personal front, Dabbawalas are simple, contented, tradition lovers, apolitical and they work as long as they can work efficiently, about 500 among them are 80 years and above, the oldest working dabbawala is of 82 years, said Gawandhe. Gawandhe has a special praise for Prince Charles who was one of the firsts to show keen interest in their enterprise following which they came to the limelight and a large number of institutions came to study their operation. Gawandhe’s lecture left a lasting impression on the young managers that one does not need a Harvard MBA degree to master the art of management.

Microsoft launch Windows Phone 7

Microsoft on Monday announced that its Windows phone 7 operating system for mobile phones will be available by this Christmas season, as a whole new platform that incorporates social networking, music, video, photos and games to provide a rich, personalised user experience. At the Mobile World Congress that opened here, Microsoft’s Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer unveiled the features that the Windows Phone 7 to be manufactured to specifications laid down by the company, will offer.
The phones will support the capacitative touch interface now popular with users, and revolve around the concept of ‘hubs’ on-screen for people, pictures, office and mail applications, music and video. Making the hubs the core of the navigation system, with dedicated keys for start, search and back — the most frequently used functions — and providing the ability to display configurable individual ‘tiles’ on the display screen for the people and applications that matter most to the individual user will differentiate, in Microsoft’s view, the Windows Phone 7 from the personal computer, and other phones. Thus, a user can feature tiles for individuals, which would show connected activity for them on Facebook, Windows Live and so on. Full-featured synchronisation and integration capabilities with other Microsoft products such as Office, Outlook, the music player Zune and the gaming platform X-Box Live has been built into the new system

NASA launched SDO to study Sun

NASA has launched a probe to study the sun and its dynamic behaviour "in greater detail than ever before" on Thursday in washington. A rocket 'Atlas V' carrying the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) was Thursday launched from Florida's Atlantic Coast. The SDO is the first-of-its-kind spacecraft designed to study the sun, the agency said. It is expected to unlock the processes inside the sun, on its surface, and in its corona that result in solar variability which when experienced on Earth, is called space weather.
The five-year mission will disclose the sun's inner workings by constantly taking high resolution images, collecting readings from its inside and measuring its magnetic field activity. It "will determine how the sun's magnetic field is generated, structured and converted into violent solar events like turbulent solar wind, solar flares and coronal mass ejections," according to the agency.

Sriram Sena chief Muthalik's face blackened by Bangalore youth

Pramod Muthalik, the controversial chief of right wing group Srirama Sene whose activists had attacked some women in a pub, got a taste of his own medicine on Thursday when his face was blackened by some youths. The incident happened when Mutalik was getting ready to participate in a debate on Valentine's Day in an open air theatre when some youths barged in, dragged him from the stage and blackened his face. The youths also tried to assault him. The event was organised by a private Kannada news channel. An embarrassed Muthalik fell down in the melee before police and Srirama Sene activists could rescue him. He is a fierce opponent of Valentine's Day festivities which falls on February 14.
Police said six youths, who described themselves as belonging to youth congress, were taken into custody. An angry Mutalik termed called the attackers as "Goondas". "This is not correct. I will not spare them. They should be punished," Mutalik said after the incident. Police had to resort to a lathicharge to disperse the crowd that had gathered after the incident. Sri Ram Sene had gained notoriety when activists of Mutalik's outfit attacked women in a pub in Mangalore in 2008 as part of its 'moral policing'. Sena had also threatened to marry off couples during Valentine's day.

Indian opener Gautam Gambhir continued to top Test batsmen rankings despite a poor show in first Test against South Africa while off-spinner Harbhajan Singh dropped out of top 10 among bowlers in the ICC chart released on Wednesday. Gambhir, who scored just 13 in the first Test in Nagpur, remained world's top batsman with 840 points, ahead of Sri Lankan duo of Mahela Jayawardene (836) and Kumar Sangakkara (835).
Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, who both scored centuries in Nagpur, are the other Indians to feature in the top 10 at sixth and ninth places respectively. By virtue of their exploits in Nagpur, South African pair of Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla have made big upward movements in the latest batting chart. Kallis, who scored his 34th Test century during the match, has returned to the top five by gaining four places to sit in fourth position ahead of his captain Graeme Smith, who slipped three places to fifth. Amla, meanwhile, broke into the top 10 for the first time in his career with the help of his magnificent unbeaten 253 in the first innings, which set up South Africa's victory against India on Tuesday by an innings and six runs. In the ICC Players' Rankings for Test bowlers, India's pace spearhead Zaheer Khan is static at the sixth spot while Harbhajan, who took two wickets for 166 in Nagpur, dropped four places to find himself at 12th.

CBI raids RCA Secretary Sanjay Dixit's home and office

CBI today raided residence of senior IAS Officer and Secretary of Rajasthan Cricket Association, Sanjay Dixit at Jaipur. The search operations at Dixit's residence at Jaipur and Lucknow started simultaneously in the morning. Earlier, the Rajasthan High Court ordered CBI to start probe against Dixit in the matter of issuing a passport to a criminal. Dixit had issued a letter of verification in favour of this person to Jaipur Passport Office a few years ago.
The raids were conducted at five places, three in Jaipur, one in Todaraisingh in Rajasthan's Tonk district, and in Lucknow, a CBI official said. A team of 35 sleuths led by CBI superintendent of Police RD Kallia conducted the searches. Dixit, who is the director of Horticulture Department and secretary of Rajasthan Tennis Association also, allegedly used his office for verifying the certificate of the history sheeter for securing the latter's passport in July 2007. Ranjeet was nabbed at the Delhi airport the same year when he was trying to leave the country, the official said.

ICC upholds ban on Delhi's Feroze Shah Kotla ground

International Cricket Council Wednesday rejected BCCI's appeal to lift the year-long ban on Delhi's Feroze Shah Kotla ground which was deemed "unfit" after the recent India-Sri Lanka ODI was abandoned due to a dangerous pitch. ICC's independent appeals commissioner Michael Beloff QC upheld the decision after conducting the hearing via teleconference. "In his judgment Mr Beloff states that following due consideration of all the evidence and submissions from both the ICC and BCCI, the correct decision was taken by Mr Richardson and Mr Madugalle to declare the pitch to be dangerous and, therefore, unfit," the ICC said in a statement. "Mr Beloff added that the imposed suspension until the end of 2010 was proportionate in this case," it added.
The Feroze Shah Kotla pitch was declared unfit by ICC General Manager - Cricket David Richardson and ICC Chief Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle following the abandonment of last December's India-Sri Lanka ODI after 23.4 overs. However, BCCI later appealed against the suspension which was turned down Wednesday. "We must now focus on making sure the New Delhi venue is ready in time for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011," ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said. "The ICC's pitch consultant will travel shortly to Feroz Shah Kotla, a ground with a long and proud history, to begin the process of remedial work that will ensure the pitch is restored to its former glory," added Lorgat.

Google launches Google Buzz

Google today launched Google Buzz, a service that allows you share updates, photos, videos, and start conversations about the things you find interesting. Google Buzz integrates a social media stream into Google’s Gmail platform and appears very much like FriendFeed, but also ties in to a number of Google services such as Youtube and Picasa, as well as being able to integrate with both Flickr and Twitter services. This semi-open approach is a threat to the closed nature of Facebook, who purchased FriendFeed last year and have made several changes to their user interface moving to a more FriendFeed-like user experience.
Twitter is also under threat by this announcement, with Google Buzz providing an out of the box social web experience similar to Twitter for existing users of Gmail it makes it hard to justify signing up to yet another service when users already have a Gmail account. Though it is possible given Google Buzz’s ability to tie in with Twitter, that Buzz can cross pollinate with Twitter ensuring that both services continue to grow.
Google Buzz is part of Gmail and key features include:
• Automatic friends lists (friends are added automatically who you have emailed on Gmail)
• "Rich fast sharing" combines image sources and real-time feeds like Picasa and Twitter into a single feed, with full-sized photo browsing
• Public and private sharing (switch easily between family and friends)
• Inbox integration (instead of emailing you with every update, like Facebook, Buzz features emails that update dynamically with Buzz thread content, ensuring you don't get emails you don't need or want)
• "Recommended Buzz" puts friend-of-friend content into your stream, learning which recommendations you want the more you use it and the more feedback you give it.

Ajmer and Chittorgarh Defeat a setback for Congress

Congress has once again proved its supremacy against opposition BJP by winning the panchayat polls but party leaders are worried about the defeat in Ajmer and Chittorgarh. Rajasthan Panchayat Samiti and Jila Parishad election brings setback for two main leader of rajasthan congress - Mr. Sachin Pilot and Girija Vyas. Congress lost both the jila pramukh seat in Ajmer and Congress while majority of panchayat pradhan seat is not more in congress favor in these two district. BJP has maintained faith in rural areas of the ajmer district by winning 21 Zilla Parishad seats out of 31 in the panchayat polls. The party is gearing up to form the board and will meet on Tuesday to elect zilla pramukh. On the other hand, Congress won 10 seats, three more than the last election. In panchayat samiti, out of eight blocks, Congress won three and one will be decided by Independents. Congress must thanks Mr. Nathuram Sinodiya, Congress MLA of Kishangarh who brings some smile on face of congress by winning Kishangarh and Arai panchayat samiti election where pradhan will be selected from congress. “Congress did well during the Lok Sabha polls in Ajmer and Chittorgarh and the party’s defeat is against our expectations. We shall see what went wrong with the candidates,” said PCC chief C P Joshi. He said the party has once again won a thumping majority, which reaffirms that voters have faith in Congress.
Sachin Pilot and Girija vyas, both are national level leaders and this defeat is surprising, but most of defeat are from small margin which is not a big problem, all they need is to focus on rural public who give them support in lok sabha election, so rethink about your rural supporters.

Security withdrawn from Natwar Singh

Govt say NO to Bt Brinjal

Govt finally refused to give a go-ahead to commercial cultivation of Bt Brinjal, a genetically-modified version of the vegetable that is said to be more resistant to pests. Announcing a cautious approach of the government, Environment and Forests Minister Jairam Ramesh said there was "no clear consensus" among the scientists and stake-holders on giving permission to Bt Brinjal and more studies needed to be conducted. "There is no over-riding urgency to introduce it... When the public sentiments have been negative, it is my duty to adopt a cautious, precautionary and principle-based approach," he told a hurriedly-called press conference which was originally scheduled for Wednesday. "I will not impose a decision till such time independent scientific studies establish safety of the product from long-term view of human health," Ramesh said.
He said it was a difficult decision to take but he had to balance many issues of science and society and producer and consumer. However, he made it clear that today's decision applied only to Bt Brinjal and does not cover future of genetically-modified crops, be it ladyfinger, cabbage or rice.
