Campaigning for Rajasthan assembly elections 2013 ended on Friday evening. Elections in Rajasthan to be held on Sunday (December 1). Candidates will be contesting 199 seats in Rajasthan while voting on Churu seat will be held on 13th December 2013. Voters will decide the fate of candidates in Rajasthan on 1st December 2013 while Results of Rajasthan Polls 2013 will be declared on 8th December 2013. Election meeting, Rally and other advertisement are banned till polls.

Voting on Churu seat on 13th December 2013

Voting on Churu seat under Rajasthan Assembly Election will be held on 13th December 2013 as  Election Commission has revised the election schedule for Churu assembly constituency in Rajasthan following the death of a candidate. Rajasthan goes to polls on 199 seats on December 1 to elect its 200- member state assembly and results will be out on December 8. BSP nominee for Churu seat, Jagdish, died on November 16 forcing the EC to alter the poll schedule there. After scrutiny the next day, the last date for withdrawal of candidature for the BSP candidate is November 29. Polling will be held from 8 AM to 5 pm on December 13.

Ghoomar 2014 or Ghumar 2014 by Rajasthan University (RU), Jaipur will be held on 17th to 18th January 2014. The 12th International Youth Festival is scheduled to be held from 17th to 28th January 2014. Rajasthan University has yet to declare the official Schedule of events and dates for University cultural festival Ghoomar 2014. 
Rajasthan University(RU) to follow some rules for participates as last year with invitation to all Colleges and Universities across world such as Participating teams are required to send their consent to University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.

Tehelka MD Shoma Chaudhury Resigns

Tehelka's managing editor (MD) Shoma Chaudhury resigns from her post. In an e-mail she sent to her colleagues just before 6 am today, Chaudhury said she didn't want questions raised about her integrity to "tarnish the image of Tehelka". Saying this had been a "damaging" time for everyone associated with the magazine, the resignation e-mail says: "To my mind, I acted on instant outrage and solidarity for our colleague as a woman and co-worker."  "After the first steps to immediately address her expressed needs, the process of setting up the anti-sexual harassment committee was begun. There were only two days to act on the complaint before the story broke in the press. Post this, things have been misconstrued and have snowballed exponentially in the media, based on half-facts and selective leaks," Chaudhury says. 
The young reporter had resigned on Monday, alleging that her boss, Ms Chaudhury had tried to orchestrate a "cover-up." She said she felt especially betrayed by Ms Chaudhury's refusal to describe Mr Tejpal's actions as "sexual misconduct" in an email circulated to Tehelka employees. Ms Chaudhury has been interrogated by the Goa police, which has booked Mr Tejpal for rape. His request for bail will be decided on Friday, the Delhi High Court said yesterday, refusing to stop the Goa Police from arresting him till then.

NPP candidate dies in road accident in Badmer, Rajasthan

In a tragic accident in Western Rajasthan a candidate Narendra Kumar Dewasi of National Peoples Party (NPP) from Gudha Malani seat died in a road accident near Pachpadra in Barmer district late last night. The accident was occurred when Dewasi’s jeep was collided with a truck. Total 4 persons were died in the accident. Earlier the Election commission postponed polling in Churu constituency due to death of a BSP candidate Jagdish Meghwal.
