Gauhar Khan wins Bigg Boss Season 7 today.  Gauhar Khan has been declared the winner of Bigg Boss Saath 7. After 104 days inside the Bigg Boss house, Gauhar Khan has managed to win the show by getting the maximum number of votes against the finalists Sangram Singh, Ajaz Khan and tanisha Mukherjee. She was declared the winner by Salman Khan and Tanisha Mukherjee has been declared the first runner up. Ajaz Khan stands on the third position while Sangram Singh is the last.
Even though Ajaz had been an entertainer to the audience throughout his stay, Gauhar proved to be the toughest contestant to beat during any task. Tanisha, on the other hand, was seen as a loyal friend, and Sangram's positive nature was also loved by the audiences. They have all survived a stay of 105 days in the "Bigg Boss" house without any contact with the outside world, with limited amenities and under the prying eyes of over 80 cameras. The seventh season of the popular reality show went on air Sep 15 on Colors. It started with 14 celebrities, and later, five additional celebrities made wild card entries at different points during its run.

Lal Bahadur Shastri’s grandson Adarsh Shastri quits Rs.1 crore job at Apple to join Aam Aadmi Party

Adarsh Shastri, the grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and son of Congress leader Anil Shahstri has left his job as the sales head in Apple Inc and joined Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said a news report on Saturday. Adarsh thanked people on Twitter for their wishes. “Thanks for your wishes, will try and live up to my grandfather’s name, we all feel his vacuum in these trying times,” he said. 

As AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal took oath as the Delhi Chief Minister along with six Cabinet ministers at Ramlila Maidan, Shastri said, “Today Delhi has witnessed the beginning of a new era, transfer of power of the people to the people by the people, democracy has truly won.”  With the announcement of Assembly election results on December 8 and AAP having a stunning debut, he said, “Victory of AAP is reaffirmation by people in the now old fashioned values of transparency and probity as espoused by my grandfather Shastriji.” He added, “With this massive defeat, witness the stage acting within Congress, save the chosen one or be doomed!! Rahul Gandhi, wake up and recognise new India!!” AAP which won 28 seats in the recently concluded elections is forming the government in the national capital with the outside support of the Congress which won eight seats.

Harjiram Burdak passes away

Former Rajasthan Agriculture minister Harjiram Burdak died in Jaipur on Friday. 84-year-old Burdak, ill for some time and admitted to SMS hospital, breathed his last past midnight. Burdak, a six-time MLA, was a cabinet minister in Ashok Gehlot government and had contested the recently held Assembly elections but was defeated by BJP candidate Manohar Singh. His last rites will be performed at his ancestral village Bharnawa in Ladnu town in Nagaur district later in the day. Burdak, son of a farmer who drew inspirations from Nehru, started his political career when he was elected sarpanch of his village Barnava in Ladnu tehsil of Nagaur district and later sarpanch of Sandas village.

After its poll rout, Congress suffered the second jolt in Rajasthan on Friday with the death of former agriculture minister Harji Ram Burdak following the demise of the Shekhawati region patriarch Sis Ram Ola on sunday. Both the leaders were in their eighties and tall figures in their respective regions. Burdak was a Jat leader of Nagaur district from where the late Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru launched the panchayati raj system in the country. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have expressed grief over the death of Burdak. Raje and Gehlot in their separate statements said that services of Burdak in the field of agriculture and as a minister would always be remembered.

Sis Ram Ola passes away

Union labour and employment minister Sis Ram Ola passed away at a Gurgaon hospital on Sunday. The 86-year-old Congress leader had been suffering from various ailments, sources in Medanta Medicity said. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. Born on 30 July, 1927, the Jat leader represented the Jhunjhunu constituency of Rajasthan and was a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 1957 to 1990, and from 1980 to 1990 he was a cabinet minister in the Government of Rajasthan.

He was Union minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers (Independent Charge) from 1996 to 1997 and Union minister of State for Water Resources (Independent Charge) from 1997 to 1998. He was Union cabinet minister of labour and employment from May 23, 2004 to November 27, 2004 and was Union cabinet minister of mines in the Manmohan Singh's government. His son Bijender Ola is a MLA from Jhunjhunu and was a former minster in the Rajasthan government. A recipient of the Padma Shri award in 1968, Ola started girls education in a remote area in rural Rajasthan with three girls in the school known as Indira Gandhi Balika Niketan Ardawata in 1952.

Vasundhara Raje sworn-in as Rajasthan CM

Vasundhara Raje sworn in as chief minister (CM) of Rajasthan for the second term after a gap of 5 year. 60-year old Vasundhara Raje was administered the oath of office and secrecy by governor Margaret Alva during a grand swearing-in ceremony at Jaipur, where tight security arrangements were put in place. 

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by BJP president Rajnath Singh, senior party leader LK Advani, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, among others. The BJP registered a thumping victory by winning 162 of the 200 seats, highest ever win by any political party in the history of Rajasthan, while the Congress managed to win 21 Assembly seats. Rest of the seats went to RJP, BSP and an Independent candidates.

Vasundhara Raje to take oath as Rajasthan CM on 13th December 2013 (Friday) at Jaipur. The BJP Legislature Party in Rajasthan unanimously elected the party’s State president Vasundhara Raje as its leader on Monday, paving the way for her appointment as the next Chief Minister. Ms. Raje is likely to stake the claim for formation of a government on Tuesday and take the oath on 13th December 2013, Friday.  In a related development, Governor Margaret Alva dissolved the 13th Assembly and issued a notification for the constitution of the 14th Assembly, in which the BJP enjoys more than a three-fourths majority.
BJP on Sunday wrested power from Congress decimating it by grabbing a four-fifth majority in the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly. In its worst ever performance in the desert state, Congress could manage just 21 seats out of the 199 for which polling was held while BJP secured 162 seats. Election officials said that BJP won 162 seats, Congress 21, Independents 7, NPP 4, BSP 3 and others 2. Rajasthan is likely to witness a major bureaucratic reshuffle after swearing-in ceremony of Vasundhara Raje, media report.
