State run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has introduced unlimited free calling during night hours from its Landline phones to all Landline phones and Mobile phones of all service provider’s network on All India basis w.e.f. 1st May 2015.This Unlimited free night calling shall be available from 09.00 P.M. to 07.00 A.M. Under this scheme all major Landline General Plans of Rural & Urban areas, Landline Special plans as well as all Combo ( Landline + Broadband ) plans are covered. BSNL Landline phone offers voice clarity and now Landline Customers can make unlimited calls comfortably anywhere in India to all networks from 09.00 P.M. to 07.00 A.M., without paying any call charges.  With this unlimited free night calling scheme BSNL intends to promote Landline usage. New Landline phone can be subscribed by visiting nearest BSNL service centre or by calling Toll Free number 1800 345 1500.

Rajasthan Farmer commits suicide at AAP rally in Jantar Mantar

A farmer from dausa district of rajasthan commits suicide by hanging himself from a tree at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) anti-Land Acquisition Bill, 2015 rally at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Wednesday. The man, identified as Gajendra Singh, climbed the tree as top AAP leaders were present at the Jantar Mantar, a stone's throw from Parliament, and hanged himself with a 'gamcha' (towel). As some people climbed up to save him, the branch gave away and he fell. He was rushed to nearby RML hospital in a police jeep. Doctors there said that he was "brought dead". The incident occurred at around 2 pm in the presence of Kejriwal prompting senior AAP leaders to allege that it was an attempt to “sabotage” the rally and slammed the police for being “mute spectators”.
In a note Singh left behind, he had mentioned his and his family's phone number. According to reports, he had three children. Dausa MP Sachin Pilot, who visited the farmer in the hospital, said the AAP should have stopped its rally after he hanged himself. "I heard that the rally continued and nobody tried to prevent his death. That is unfortunate," he told reporters. "Was the finishing speech more important?" he asked. Arvind Kejriwal visited the hospital after his speech at the rally. "Before our eyes he climbed the tree. I kept telling the police to save him. But the police are not in our control, but at least he is under God's control.  I am sad that he climbed the tree in front of us but nobody tried to stop him," he said. As politics exploded over the suicide, AAP and Mr Kejriwal were accused of extreme insensitivity by rival parties. "Is politics more important than someone's life?" questioned BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.

Rajasthan Sampark aims towards providing citizens with a centralized platform where any citizen of the state can lodge his/ her grievances to the respective departments. It primarily consists of a State level Call Center with integrated web portal which will act as a single point of contact for addressing and redressing various citizen centric queries and grievances related to government services. Citizens can lodge their grievances against any government department/ office through this portal and the grievance will further be sent to the respective office/ department for redressal. Through Rajasthan Sampark, Government of Rajasthan intends to achieve all important aspects of good governance viz. Robust Delivery System, Transparency, Communication, Grievance Redressal and Sensitivity towards citizens.

Five smugglers with 9 kg heroin arrested in Jaisalmer

Five smugglers with 9 kg heroin arrested in Jaisalmer in a joint operation of Rajasthan ATS, local police and IB. Officials said that the drugs were smuggled from Pakistan and they are said to be worth Rs 45 crore in the international market. The joint teams have recovered 9kg heroin in 22 bottles and the international cost is worth Rs 45 crore. The recovered heroin include six kg in 14 bottles were recovered near randha village under jhinjhinyali police station area in Jaisalmer and remaining heroin of 3kg in 8 bottles from a notorious smuggler under bijharoad police station area in barmer.

Rajasthan assembly passes anti-witch craft law

Rajasthan assembly passed a bill that aims to provide for effective measures to tackle the menace of witch-hunting and witchcraft. The Rajasthan Prevention of Witch-hunting Bill, 2015 entails a responsibility on the law and order machinery to take preventive measures against both the evils. Presenting the bill in the assembly, Minister's of State for Women and Child Development Anita Bhadel said: "At present, there is no penal provision in the state's law to prohibit or punish the accused of witch-hunting and other similar practices."  "The proposed legislation aims at prohibition and prevention of witch-hunting and other similar practices. Thus, the bill will help in tackling the evil consequences and curbing crimes related or resulting from the practice of witch-hunting."The penal provisions of the proposed legislation provides that every offence under it shall be cognizable and non-bailable.  The bill outlines that whoever indulges in witch-hunting shall be punishable with rigorous imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than one year but which may extend to five years or with fine which shall not be less than Rs.50,000 or both.
