Bio-Diesel car developed at DCE Delhi

Delhi College of Engineering started its biodiesel research programme in year 2000 and has since emerged as a leading technological institute of India which has been accredited as the hub of advanced level research in propagation of petro-plants, their improved agro-practices, development of indigenous biodiesel production technology, design and development of small to medium capacity biodiesel processing unit, quality assurance of biodiesel and trial of biodiesel in diesel engines and vehicles.
Biodiesel from a variety of feedstocks such as Mahua, Linseed, Rice Bran, waste cooking oil from the Mc Donalds, Crude Palm, Castor, Jatropha and Karanja have already been prepared and process optimization has been completed. These biodiesel have been tested in diesel engines & vehicles. The research team has also developed technology to convert high FFA, low quality feedstocks in to biodiesel. The college developed small capacity biodiesel reactors of 5 & 10 liters in 2003. The reactor being capable of producing quality biodiesel are economically viable solution for making biodiesel for the replacement of the costly fossils in the rural areas. The college developed its 100 liter per batch biodiesel processing unit in 2004. Air France Plane Debris found 650 Mile from Brazil Coast

Brazil's Air Force says it has found airplane seats and other debris floating in the Atlantic Ocean along the path that a missing Air France jet was flying. Air Force spokesman Jorge Amaral says the seats were spotted by search planes early on Tuesday morning but that authorities cannot immediately confirm they were from the plane. Also spotted were small white pieces of debris, material that may be metallic and signs of oil and kerosene, which is used as jet fuel. The debris was found about 650 kilometers northeast of the Brazilian archipelago of Fernando de Noronha. The plane disappeared with 228 people aboard.
The items included a seat from a plane, bits of white material, an orange buoy, a barrel and some oil and kerosene slicks, grouped in two floating patches 60 kilometers apart, according to an air force statement. It could not immediately be confirmed that the debris was from Air France flight AF 447, the spokesman, Colonel Jorge Amaral, told reporters. There were no signs of survivors, he said. "The search is continuing because it's very little material in relation to the size" of the Air France Airbus A330, he said.

BJP nominated Karia Munda as Lok Sabha Dupty Speaker

Karia Munda, BJP's tribal leader from Jharkhand, was named by the party as its candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha. "The Parliamentary Board decided to name six-time party MP in the Lok Sabha Karia Munda as the candidate for the post," BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley told reporters at New Delhi today. 72-year-old Munda was a minister in the Morarji Desai government and later in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee ministry. He was earlier an MLA in Bihar and later in Jharkhand. When asked whether Munda's candidature was done with the aim of winning tribal support for the party, Jaitley said, "It is true that Munda belongs to the ST community, but along with that he has a vast legislative experience and this decision was made considering his seniority."
BJP was earlier planning to field veteran BJP leader and MP from Indore Sumitra Mahajan but gave up the idea when Congress nominated Kumar. Congress had offered Deputy Speakership to the BJP last Saturday in keeping with the convention that the position has been held by the opposition. Munda later said his nomination would send a "good message" among the tribals because the community has got honour. He, however, denied that his party played the tribal card by selecting him for the post. Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP MP Arjun Munda hailed Karia Munda's nomination saying it will send a very positive signal in the tribal state.

The three-judge bench, hearing the case, said it will give a detailed order later. Dogar, who addressed the bench for about 45 minutes said the UN Security Council had only sought a freeze on the JuD's assets and a travel ban on its leaders and the world body had not demanded the arrest of JuD leaders.
