Hi Friends,
I have some idea about the NIC Recruitment. NIC Recruited 16 Scientific Officer/ DIO last year. Some of detail about That recruitment.
Notification for Post- April 2008
Written Exam: 22 June 2008
Written Result: August 2008
Interview: Sept. 2008 at NIC New Delhi HQ.
Result Declaration: 27 Nov. 2008
Medical Submission: 15 Nov. 2008
DOJ: January 2009.
Total seat: 16
There was very few seats it was around 16 allover india. I was finally selected but later come to know that that recruitment was for North-East and Bihar so i finally didn't Join NIC Last year. Hope to see you all of you Guys again.

    I was also selected for interview last year but I did'nt have any idea when did the result had been declared. In the website I have not found the results of final selections.
    Please tell how did they displayed the result.

    Hi,
    Last year paper include all subjects included in GATE... not too much tough as GATE Paper... you should be aware of Basics in CSE

    One of Guys is asking about last year result.
    Last year result was declared on OCT,23 2008.
    As post was less it was around 20 so they just send mail individually by POST AND EMAIL

    Mainly questions were asked from TOC, DS and OS. Rest of paper was normal just you need basic concepts of CS and Writing skills.

    SECTION 1 FILL IN THE BLANKS:
    This section contains 10 Question and all question are mandatory and each questions contains 1 Marks. Some of question which is Remember was listed below:
    1. Complexity of QuickSort....... nLogN
    2. Page table entries are stored in .....
    3. Virtual function is example of .....(early/late binding)
    4. One question form Auto meta theory
    5. One was based on Java
    6. ......... Layer is responsible for Routing in TCP/IP (n/w Layer)
    7. ...... Normal form is normally used in application development. ANS: 3NF
    Q. 8,9,10

    This time i do not remember but this section was preety easy. if you are aware of basic concept then you can solve easily 8-9 Qquestions.

    If someone appear for exam last year then please contribute so that we can make a concrete sample paper.

    Hi guys...
    please do not depends on previous yr. paper... as normally all Govt. sector paper were Objective...while last year we got subjective there...so be prepare for changes...
    From my personal view..do not worry too much about Programming..it wouldn't be too much hard... and i think..very less questions..

    so good luck for exams... and sorry guys.. i do not have any last year paper.

    This is good news that this year you people will get Objective questions only... so cheers :)

    From my opinion go through some sample papers of GATE that will definitely help u people.

    Prepare basics of Paging and Memory Management from OS as last year there was lot of questions from this section.

    One of my freind have attended NIC exam.It would cover topics like Switching Thoery and Logic Design, Micro Proccessors (mainly 8086), DSGT and Unified Modelling Language, DAA, VLSI, Discrete Structures and Graph Theory, LDIC, ZXTM (Zues), DC , Multi Media and Web Design, Language Processors, Artificial Intelligence etc...

    but in the admit card of NIC scientific Officer/Engineer-SB(programmer) 2009,it is mentioned clearly that there will be a test of 2hrs of objective type.so may be the pattern is changed.
    Still then i request you to upload some questions of previous year or to give some idea to prepare for that exam as you have already appeared last year

    last year i attended the nic exam.30 multiple question,& 70 subjective.but this year the test pattern will be objective.go thru software engg,dbms,os(memory part),datastructure,c++,Java,organization,etc.go thru the gk publishers gate guode book for reference.this book help me a lottt.

    Hi all,

    Congratulation to all the candidates selected for PI.
    As per Last years Interview Process, some facts are:
    1. Only 25-30 Candidates are called each day.
    2. Around 15-35 Minute interview will be there.
    3. Interview panel have 5-6 Interviewer
    4. They ask Basic Questions.
    5. If you have any Research Paper or publication emphasis over that and mention it.
    6. They ask for your 2 favorite subject.
    7. Normally DO NOT ask any technical question for long time, HR is main.
    8. If you are working they why u want to switch.
    9. Prepare basic web technology and Protocols.
    10. Make some research about NIC and its work such as National Data maintainable, Research, e-Governance and web portal management.
    11. Go through website design basics.
    12. Prepare for OS, Networking, Core Java, Web technology.
    13. Be confidence.
    14. GOOD LUCK....FOR INTERVIEW.

    1. They called last year around 300 for 16 Post....so definitely they will call around. 1500 candidates for 250 seats.

    2. NIC office is situated at Lodhi Road....Buses are available there...else take auto from New Delhi railway station, it will take 50 Rs.... as it is situated at Main Govt. office area so u have to walk around 1Km at CGO Complex....

    1. This recruitment is for freshers and experienced...so don't worry about experience.
    and they ask only basic question just go through TOC basics if u think.
    2. People coming by Air can take auto, it will take around 100-130 Rs.
    3. ECE people prepare for CSE Basics if they are find something special definately recruit u....
    4. They don't need any experience certificate

    They have declared in their advertisement that u need to carry NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE(NOC) when u will be called for interview.So can u plz tell me is it neccesary to carry it along during the interview or can u get to them later?

    I came to know from some other community that the job is for 5 years which is likely to be extended after the term of 5 yrs.can u plz elaborate that after 5 yrs we may be sacked??
