Bandra-Worli sea link will be inaugurated on 30 June 2009

Bandra-Worli sea link is all set to inaugurated by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday 30 june 2009, expected travel time between Bandra flyover and Love Grove Junction cuts 35 minutes (in ideal conditions) to just eight minutes.The bridge has been designed in such a way that vehicles heading Worli will slow down and turn left for the exit which they have to reduce speed further while negotiating the turn and even while exiting (from the bridge) use the roundabout at Worli.
The Rs 1,600 crore (Rs 16 billion), 5.6-km Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL), India’s first open 8-lane, cable-supported sea bridge that will reduce traffic congestion in this metro, will be inaugurated by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday, an official said.
The Bandra-Worli sea link will be celebrated as the sucess by firing crackers
lakhs of Mumbaikars, staying in the Mahim-Bandra-Worli-Dadar belt, will be able to see the sight from their windows or beaches close to their homes. The show will be a combination of fireworks and light-and-laser pyrotechnics and has been planned for today evening.
