Heavy rain in Delhi/ NCR

The rain-starved national capital on Monday came to a crawl after heavy showers inundated many low-lying areas and affected vehicular movement and air traffic while at least 10 people were trapped when a wall collapsed due to the downpour. The uninterrupted showers resulted in water-logging and traffic snarls in many areas, including India Gate, ITO, R K Puram and localities in West Delhi and East Delhi. Rain gauges in the city measured 69 mm of rains from Sunday evening till 8:30 p.m. on Monday. The city received 29.4 mm of rains between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., a senior official at MeT Department said.
The central control room of MCD received complaints of water-logging from areas like Model Town, Azadpur, Munirka and Dwarka. Reports of falling of trees were also received from some areas while another wall collapsed in Jahangirpuri in west Delhi, the civic body said. while 10 killed, 9 injured in Noida wall collapse accident in NCR.
