Delhi state government is all set to make the three upcoming flyovers in the area sound-proof by covering their both sides with a special sheet. The three flyovers
1. Rao Tularam Marg flyover (project cost Rs 59 crore)
2. Munirka flyover (Rs 104 crore)
3. IIT flyover (Rs 83 crore)
which are in a row are likely to be completed by October end. "But to ensure that the moving vehicles do not create sound menace for the nearby residential colonies, we have decided to cover the two sides of the flyover with a special kind of noise-proof substance - polycarbonate sheet," PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan told reporters here. He said the entire corridor, which is six kms long and made up of concrete instead of bitumen, aims to ensure signal-free traffic for motorists.
