Jaipur Contractors strike move on 9th day

Politics, Controversy and protest against newly elected mayor Jyoti Khandelwal seems to be not over which is not good for jaipurites and state's development. Contractors of city are on strike from last 9 days accusing delay in payment and they demanded immediate payment of their dues. Meanwhile, the mayor and her party said she has stopped payment as she was not satisfied with the quality and quantity of work and she claims that we are getting regular compalints from people on contractor such as choked drains, irregularities in garbage collection, non-functioning street lights and other problems so unless these problems are restored and she is satisfied with work she would not release payment.
Jaipur contractors' association president, Laxmant Pareek reiterated his stand that unless the JMC clears the dues, all the tendering processes will be boycotted. "Earlier, we had gone on strike for 32 days but this time we are prepared for an indefinite period, the people support us," Pareek claimed.
